Minor League Thread

Back to minor league stuff…

Owen Murphy had a no hitter broken up in the 7th tonight. Second great outing in a row for him - 6.2 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 8 K. It’d be nice to see him get his feet wet at Rome to end the year.

Another big night for David McCabe. 2-3 with a double and a walk so far. OPS up to .937. Probably all comes down to whether he can handle third defensively, and I haven’t seen many things confidently saying he can. I’d imagine he ends the year in Mississippi.

That's still debatable. Look at Spencer's last 7 game stretch. He's dominant until he's not. I like our first two guys enough...the argument was what other staff would you take, the Braves are fine..blah, blah. Take off those homer lenses and there are concerns whether you think it's short term or the playoffs.

Everyone is dominant until they aren't. Kershaw has career post-season ERA of 4.22.

It is cool. Strong arguments that Fried and Strider are the best starters in the NL. The Braves will have a starting pitching advantage in any series they are thanks to those two.
Believe what you want. I'm not opposed to the thought so Wtf you going on about? Lmao

Grissom keeps hitting.

Maybe he's not slugging a ton....If he really is a good avg/obp hitter with limited power, that could be helpful in this lineup. Can he play LF? Would he do better than a 750 OPS?

Most likely trade bait now we have he kid from KC. But we shall see if AA thinks the bat is impact and needs to stay.

I think we need to see what Grissom could offer in LF, but he’s below average speed and arm strength so he’s have to have really good instincts to be a plus defender. If not then it’s going to be really hard for him to hit enough to be a valuable player which is hard to do if you’re not getting extra base hits.

I like Vaughn and I think he’s got big league skills. Unfortunately, he doesn’t have a defensive position.

He's fine at 2b defensively. Not gonna be confused for Robbie Alomar out there, but he's adequate. Ideally, he would be a great utility player for us. The obvious issue is that 2b is only position he has shown he can manage defensively. And a utility player than can only play 1 position isn't really a utility player.

He was really bad last year. -4 OOA in a months worth of games at 2B. Sure some of that might have been learning a new position on a fly, but he’s really bad at his natural position (SS) so I don’t see much promise.
