If you let Yates continue to pith after loading the bases I don't see the issue with him facing a lefty at that point. Lefties don't really hit him at all.

But the whole point of Hand is he’s death on lefties. He has more value in that situation than he does pitching mop up which is how he’s been used since we acquired him.

Huh. It isn’t if lefties hit better or worse than righties against Yates. It is who is better against lefties… hand or Yates. We all know the answer. You needed one out and you have to make that move. Problem is twit didn’t even have him up. He was asleeep.

Snit is about as tactically competent as a good high school manager. He can identify the best players on his roster, and get them lined up in something close to the optimal way. After that…clueless.

On a Sunday afternoon in August I don't see an issue having Yates out there. I don't need every game micromanaged like it's the playoffs.
 
This is where I worry about the team. I have a feeling we go in a long losing streak after this one. Losing to a high school version of the Giants is tough.

I don’t disagree but this is pretty low hanging fruit especially with how much Yates has pitched and how little Hand has.

I’m not sure why he went with Yates over Jimenez given how much more Kirby has been used recently, but it’s not that big of a deal in the end. Baseball happens, we’re more than fine
