On that note. I wonder if a Ozuna could play first. Not to replace Olson but to allow Olson to just DH once or twice a week the rest of the way.
He has taken reps

Aguilar Is hitting in AAA. Against LHP, ozuna in LF, aguilar at 1b, and Olson at DH
Even in Sept when they can bring up one additional pitcher and one additional hitter, I doubt they waste that on a platoon 1B who would only play when the team faces a LHP, which has been extremely rare.
Twit needs to start getting guys days off. I also am starting to sense the staggered playing time is hurting Murph more than the rest is helping him. I think the team needs to commit to Murph playing 75% the rest of the way.. I like getting guys days off, but every other day is a bit much for a catcher you just locked up as your primary backstop. Since the Break, Murph is hitting below .200 with a very low .600 OPS... I don't think he can 'figure' it out when he is off every other night.
Ozuna figured it out while doing basically the same thing earlier in the season.
Maybe Murphy is just a streaky hitter?
Here are his first half/second half WRC+ half splits
2022: 108/140
2021: 108/87
2020: 116/150
Fact is he's a career 122 WRC+ guy and we should expect something in that range going forward.
what the heck are you talking about..
1. every player is different
2. Ozuna played in 55 of the 60 games from May 2nd to July 9th (break) One game was because he got benched for not running.. he missed another after being hit in hand.. then missed 3 games in a row around the time he plead no contest.. so that might have some correlation. Prior to May 2nd he was hitting .085... He didn't figure it our until he started playing everyday. May 2nd to July 9th (.290 avg with a .903 OPS)
Might wanna check that again chief. He missed about a start or 2 per week until Mid-May.
I’ll believe it when I see it.
I’m pretty sure he’s gonna be lock down awesome.
They took their time with this and I’ve got a pretty strong hunch that AA has been very attuned to the medicals with this one.
We shall see- but I fully expect Kyle to be a starter - and an elite one at that - come October.
you think.. it will take a 3 weeks just to get him to a reasonable pitch count and that will be in lower levels. He might get 2-3 starts in the bigs before playoffs begin.
Yeah - maybe two big league starts and then let’s go to war - thing is, he knows how to win in October.

I mean, if it is unknown Wright and Cheerios for game 4.. the right call is to write Wright as the starter.
Now remember, I said from May 2nd on he was basically everyday.. that is when he started to heat up based on the numbers I provided. So lets check this together.

Not sure when mid may begins and ends with you, but that is 3 games he missed in that span and like I said in my OP, he entered his plea of no contest on the 9th, so he might have stayed back in ATL before catching up with the team in Toronto. So again, he started playing every day and from May 2nd on and he was a different hitter. Does that mean him playing everyday is the reason he became good all of sudden.. I don't know.. but the numbers COULD draw that conclusion if you wanted them to.
He missed 3 games the first 2.5 weeks of May. Pretty sure that is the very definition of missing "a start or 2 per week."
If that is what you get from that then have at it chief. Somehow in your world that fits your narrative. Well done.
