REAL FOOTBALL Thread

Myles Garrett is on another level. If he was on a better team than Cleveland he'd be getting gassed up appropriately.

THat was 4 years ago and you can kind of understand how he got there. He was lashing out while being ganged up on. Doesn't excuse his behavior of course. But it's not like he kept doing it.

I mean you watched the clip, you saw Pouncey throwing bows and kicking Garrett in the head. It's not like there was good blood in that rivalry.

And again, that was 4 years ago. What has he done since then? He came back to be the best defensive end in football for 3 seasons in a row. Great people motivate from their mistakes. And the media certainly tried to crucify him for that.

Anyway. Back to the topic. Only 3 undefeated teams left, Eagles, Niners, and Dolphins. Who I think have easily asserted themselves as the best teams in the NFL so far this season.

Broncos, Vikings, Bears, and Panthers are still winless. Bengals are currently leading and could lose.

Anyway.

only 5 teams have made the playoffs after starting 0-3, and none of those teams really look like quality enough to turn the season around. Only benefit a few of them have (not broncos) is that they play in kind of garbage divisions where they could snag some later wins from the division.

Vikings have the best non-QB player in the NFL. I think they right the ship at some point. Whether they do that in enough time to make the playoffs is anyone's guess, but luckily their division is still pretty weak overall as I don't think the Packers or the Lions will be running away with anything. They are both probably 10 win teams at best.

Luckily for the Bears, they currently have 2 top 5 draft picks. They will need them, as they will almost assuredly move on from Fields unless something drastic changes. He looks really, really bad. They really need to give him the Lamar Jackson offense and design plays to get him out of the pocket. Give him lots of quick reads. Simplify the game for him and let him use his natural ability. That's the only way it's going to work for him. Trying to transform him into Pat Mahomes or Josh Allen will fail 100% of the time. As it stands, they are staring No. 1 overall pick for back to back seasons. Hopefully the Bears don't screw up Caleb Williams like they have every other top QB they have drafted

Sucks when your team misses out on their window. But good year to suck for your squad.

It would be a good year to suck if we hadn't just traded to the start of the 2nd round for Will Levis. In all likelihood, we'll give him every chance to fail. If he doesn't work out, it looks like the 2026 class could be the next elite QB class. The 2023 recruiting cycle had several elite QBs, including 5 of the top 12 players in the country, highlighted by Arch Manning.

And I also doubt we will be sucky enough to be able to grab other elite talents like Marvin Harrison II or Olu Fashanu, both guys that are easily the best talents at their positions to come out in roughly 3-4 years. Just our luck again.

The only good thing we got going on is that we have 100-120 million in cap space coming up this off-season

Arch Manning has to play football first for him to "highlight" a class... the only reason he was so highly ranked was that his last name is Manning... let's not anoint the guy who hasn't won a college job yet.

I'm just saying it's appears to be a loaded QB recruiting class that could/should provide multiple high end QB prospects in 3 years. Certainly can't think back to many years with so many highly rated QBs coming out of HS in the same recruiting class. It could certainly all be overhype. But the Mannings have name recognition for a reason, so I wouldn't bet against him.

Somehow I wound up with Cowboys twitter hitting my feed. And they're all atwitter about getting Kyle Pitts. As someone who wishes nothing but the best for Pitts and him to succeed, these fans are delusional. They're like rumors are the talks are over picks falcons want a 5. Like no way in hell would if the Falcons came to any team and said we'll trade Pitts for a 5 that a team wouldn't just say yes.

People on twitter are ****ing insane. I need to click and comment on more Braves ****. To cleanse my twitter.

Rumors on Titans twitter that Ryan Tannehill will likely be on the block if we continue to suck. We have no picks in the 5th/6th round this year, so I imagine we would be seeking a 5th or a 6th, assuming we ate some money. Falcons and Jets are the teams most rumored for obvious reasons.

Tannehill would make sense for Atlanta mainly because of system familiarity. But he's been ass this year.
