But which of those do you expect to go on a short term deal?
Montgomery on a home town deal.
I could see Eduardo Rodriguez coming on a reasonable 3-year deal. Unless he loves Detroit enough to opt-in
I dunno, he's already got 3 years left on his deal if he opts back in, so I doubt he'd opt out just for another 3 year deal. Plus he apparently likes Detroit enough to stay there rather than pitch for the Dodgers.
AA should have $30M-$50M of payroll in 2024 depending on how much over the cap they are willing to go, assuming all of Rosario ($9M), Morton ($20M) and McHugh ($6M) are retained. I expect the bulk of that cash to go towards a SP on a short term deal.
Nola gonna wanna be a brave after what we do to him tomorrow

I think they retain Rosario. But Morton has a good chance to call it quits, and McHugh is toast, he's gone. But there's alot of SP's available this offseason.
He went to LSU, but he's probably gonna get a massive deal somewhere. Unless he somehow took a short-term deal (unlikely).
Any interest in Yoshinobu Yamamoto? Or should I say any interest in getting into that bidding war? I am guessing he will get over 200 million but he will play most of next season at only 25 years old. I think he rivals Yu Darvish as best pitcher to come out of Japan. All things considered I think he is the safest FA pitcher. Paying pitchers into their late 30's because of what they did in the 20's almost always feels like a bad idea but we would probably only have to sign Yamamoto through his early 30's. I think the contract we will offer Fried to stay will be similar to what Yamamoto gets. If we dont think Fried will re-sign maybe redict that money to Yamamoto and we can atleast have both for 1 year.
