Official 2024 Off-Season Thread!

Kelenic! I love it! Showed some growth last year and is still only 23… let’s see what we gave up but this is exciting IMO
 
The Mariners are trading Jarred Kelenic, Marco Gonzales and Evan White to the Braves for RHP Jackson Kowar and RHP Cole Phillips.
 
Ah, I see it now. The contracts for White and Gonzales are not great.

EDIT: Gonzales is due to make $12.25 million next year (with a $15 million team option for 2025) and White is making $7 million next year and $8 million in 2025.
 
Kelenic is not good, we got him because we are taking on Gonzales’ contract who sucks. I wish we weren’t taking on that contract. Have no desire to watch him ever pitch.

There was a time I wanted him to be a brave more than most prospects out there. If the Braves iron out some things..hmmm. Noice!
 
Gonzales has been much worse than I thought the last few years… maybe we can get some solid 5th starter innings out of him.

Completely agree.

This is a coup and could make us the greatest offense ever.

Just need a pitcher and we're set.
 
You can deal with that Gonzo contract at 12 mil in 2024 seeing as that you can void his contract in 2025.

That Evan White contract? Woof. Hopefully, the Braves feel like they can develop him better and make him playable like the Dodgers do with so many guys?

They shouldn't be. He has warts..but his potential is still good. I hated losing Cole..but he's one of the few prospects I haven't seen personally. Easy gas though. Oh well...I'm not upset at all. I like this trade...money be damned.
