Official 2024 Off-Season Thread!

Didn’t we already sign that fourth OF?

With the acquisition of Kelenic, there are four OFs on the 40-man: Acuna, Harris, Kelenic, and Wall. Maybe they view Wall as the legitimate 4th OF and won't try to augment this. I imagine a lot depends on how Grissom fares in LF in his winter league excursion. If he does well down there, I can see the Braves just rolling with what they have right now.

I'd be surprised if AA's done. We basically just need another SP for October. We have more than enough depth to get through the regular season. Cant have Elder starting again no matter who we face.

AA’s not done. He didn't go from offering Nola a huge contract to signing Lopez instead. He knows we need another good starter.

He basically purged our SP depth with Schuster, Soroka, Wright (even if he's out for 24), plus just traded away Marco who eats innings. Common sense says he'll eventually add another starter.

Yup. Best way to get engagement is to be intentionally wrong. Social media is the worst.

I find it all over TikTok too. Want to get a video to 10k comments, say something completely controversial and let all the hate comments roll in.

He doubled down on his stupid by retweeting that tweet and saying to put Acuna in there at 7. I could at least forgive him forgetting Acuna. Believing he's only the 7th best hitter in the game is just silly.

Soto top 3 is ridiculous. He's still a really good hitter, but he hasn't been a top 5 hitter since 2021. The last 2 years he's barely been top 10.

Shohei decision soon per Morosi. Lot of momentum building with the Blue Jays.

Good. Get this **** over with.

I actually dont think Shohei is holding up the market. Position player market is pretty weak for the part. Basically have Chapman/Bellinger, few others. MLB FA is always slow but with FO's shutting down around Christmas, moves will probably pick up in the next few weeks.

Oh no, I agree. I'm just sick of hearing about it. I think Yamamoto's decision is what's holding up the pitching market. haha

Mets guy in the Athletic said Yama's market is Yanks, Mets, Giants, Dodgers, Jays, and 2 undisclosed teams. He was posted on Nov 20th, has 45 days to sign, best guess is he signs before Christmas with FO's shutting down. Guessing he signs around the Dec 17-21th timeframe. He's gonna take some US visits next week.
