REAL FOOTBALL Thread

If you could prove to me the majority of the talking heads, yes… but you know you can’t do that.

Great - we went from "the only people suggesting Purdy is ahead of Dak right now are Niners fans. But you won’t address those facts"

And now it was changed to 'Majority of the talking heads'

Keep clowning brah!

More distractions… I’m sure there are some non Niners fans out there who are willing to put Purdy up there. I don’t have access to every talking head opinion in my head currently. So obviously I can’t guarantee that. I can guarantee that the vast majority have Dak ahead and you know it.

I can't help that you change your position within 5 minutes or you blatantly show that you have no clue what a basic counting stat is.

I'm just calling it out because its hysterical.

Again… when I said counting stats in that statement it was a simple honest mistake. I meant basic stats. They aren’t predictive or advanced stats as you claimed. So I guess in that case you also have no clue what you’re talking about either.

It's Dak, then Purdy, then Tyreek IMO.

If Cowboys don't win the division though that might tip the scales. They've both had great years... but when I watch both, things seem a helluva lot easier for Purdy as Shananan is just a freak of getting guys open

49ers receiver core is definitely better than Dallas' receiver core as well.

I just don't get this argument - Show me the QB that does things without great talent around him.

Dallas has the better offensive line. Purdy has actually been pressured as much as any QB in league.

Lamb is as good and probably better than any reciever on the niners. Fergueson is a good tight end. Pollard is a nice back.

Purdy went INTO Philly and had a better game than Dak had in Dallas against philly.

Not saying it should be hands down Purdy but I think hes been a better QB this year.

What's going to hurt Purdy is that a chunk of voters will consider McCaffery for MVP, that hurts his stock. Same thing that hurts Tyreek and Tua.

Honestly, I think MVP is wide open. Dak and Purdy are putting up numbers surrounded by talent. Josh Allen is grinding out results. Lamar will be geting votes because of how good Baltimore has been. If he leads Buffalo to the playoffs he'll be a front runner as the talent Buffalo has is so far below Dallas and SF.

The last couple of weeks will determine a lot. If Dak wins the next 2 games, and plays well he'll be the favorite. If he doesn't, he opens the door for other MVP Candidates. If Josh goes and shows up and beats Dallas, he'll gain while Dak will fall.

Brock's only show me game is Baltimore. SO he basically needs to focus on not failing. And playing well vs. Baltimore.

Lamar has some tough games coming up.

Dak, Purdy, Lamar, Tyreek is my guess right now. Josh Allen has a shot of winning it if Buffalo wins out or nearly win out as they've had way more adversity than Dallas, Miami, SF, or Baltimore. Also the NFL writers has been chomping at the bit to give Allen an MVP.

Tyreek all but ended his chances last night.

On a side note, feel pretty confident the Titans have QB figured out. Hopefully we lose out, get that top 5 pick and take MHII.

Yeah but the dolphins were trash without him on the field... sorta strengthens his value

Tyreek needed to shatter the record to have a chance. Like 2100 yards type of shattering. With Titans weak secondary, he should have easily gotten 150+ yards if he didn't get hurt. As of now, he'll probably still break the record, but only by about 50 yards or so.

Purdy is matching records that QB's like Montana/Rodgers/Brady have only touched.

I don't think is even a discussion in a couple of weeks.

WHat Purdy is doing is flat out spectacular.

Again, no one cares about completion % streaks except for Niner fans. I haven't seen anyone mention this aside from you.

If you want to talk about impressive records that people are ACTUALLY talking about, in about a week or 2 Josh Allen is set to become the first player EVER to have 4 consecutive 40 TD seasons. Not Peyton or Rodgers or Brady or Brees or Mahomes. Allen will be in a class by himself.

TD total is a counting stat in a new era of football. Its not as meaningful as a rate stat like comp % or NY/Att.

I'm not sure what else to say but Purdy is doing things that only Rodgers/Brady/Montana have done.

Brees is tied with Purdy/bradford/someone else for 7 games in a row.

It’s spectacular that Montana did that since the game was so different in the 80/90s

Montana also had the best WR to ever play the game. Brees never had a WR even make the pro bowl until Mike Thomas at the very end of his career when he couldnt even throw the ball 20 yards anymore.

LMFAO. You are so FOS.

Completion percentages have increased dramatically over the last 10 years. 65% completion is the new 60%. Hell, last year 4 different QBs had a completion 68% or higher.
70% in this era isn't nearly as impressive as you think it is.
