New Manager Discussion

Also, just realized...

George Lombard and Walt Weiss were previously teammates... 1998-2000 for us.

Maybe there is hope AA forces Weiss to bring Lombard on as bench coach... and Lombard takes over eventually. Weiss is 61. Lombard is 50. Snit was early 60's when he took over for us after Fredi got fired.

We really hired Snitker's dugout nap buddy. Outstanding.

It's unconscionable for Strider to have to point out AJSS's elbow injury to our coaches, and then to turn around and say, "Yeah, I'll have more of that."

So Weiss was the top choice and Lehmann may not have been talked to...wow is all I can say. It's scary that this organization is that dumb. AA is definitely not as smart as I thought he was.

Yeah...maybe this offseason isn't as important as we once thought for AA. If he's towing the company line and being a good solider then his job is safe as long as the battery is bringing in money.

I told you not to get your hopes up because the people picking the manager actually wanted Snit to come back. If we were going to switch to a more analytical approach that would come from the front office not the manager.

When Sean Payton retired, the saints hired Dennis Allen to remain continuity. Allen was a disaster.

When Mike leach died, miss state hired Zach arnett to remain continuity. Arnett was a disaster.

And now my braves are doing the same thing.

Curious to see if this decision has any influence on how the front office approaches the off-season personnel-wise. Like Waitingfor2017 just posted, this smacks of "we've built a great team and the window remains open so we're only going to adjust around the margins." I respect Anthopoulos, but he seems to have this stubborn streak in him that just refuses to look at anything beyond the extensions. It's like he's ride-or-die with the on-field product he's constructed. If Nick Allen is playing SS and batting 9th on Opening Day 2026, something will have gone terribly wrong,

Only way I'll forgive having Allen at SS is if they add Kyle Tucker

I’m not sure football examples count.

Maybe Fredi / Bobby does
