They do keep flopping. They called up AJSS last year despite not being consistently dominant in the majors and being very young. I don’t think they’re busts because they didn’t have instant success, but using AJSS and Waldrep when they did deserves questioning. 50 made a good point about SS.

That’s quite a leap you’ve made there. I think it’s fair to want to see pitchers be consistently effective in the minors before calling them up, especially when they’re really young. There hasn’t even been a single good start between all three of them when called up.

I don’t think the chances were/are good that any of the three would be dealt regardless, but I wonder how much, if at all, calling the young pitchers up early, only for them to faceplant, hurt their value.

The decisions to call these guys up, specifically AJSS, Schwellenbach, and Waldrep, before they’re dominating the minors consistently is definitely head-scratching. I defended the AJSS move, but the more they keep doing it and the guys keep flopping, the more questionable these decisions become...

There’s no chance AA punts this year. They won in 2021 and that team was probably worse than this one. AA won’t punt when all you have to do is make the playoffs.
