I agree that we have spent money. Mets are spending money like we would have to in 5-7 years when these extensions run out. I don't think we'll be the team paying for mid 30s and 40s stars like the Mets. That is what Enscheff is talking about with contention windows. But we are paying for...

Thank you. That was my thought. Mets are being called a super team, but I think they are basically the same as the Braves. Braves are younger and have more room for improvement IMO. Mets have some significant age and injury history on the roster.

Over the last two years, Correa has a .842 OPS — the third basemen in that time period with a better OPS are just Austin Riley (.887), Rafael Devers (.885), José Ramírez (.881), Manny Machado (.867) and Nolan Arenado (.848). — Sammon Clearly we'd expect Correra to be a much better defender than...

While we are flipping out about the Mets...has anyone looked at the projections? CF: Harris 4.8 (114 games, no sitting vs LH)/ Nimmo 5.4...........Slight advantage Mets? I think push but I love harris. LF: Rosario -1.1/ Marte 3.......big advantage Mets RF: Acuna 2.2/Canha 2.8........Big...

is tax that bad? if we are are 230, then you can go to 250. So 20 million to spend on conforto. Plus you get the 20% penalty. But we are nowhere close to actually spending 250 b/c of the extensions.

If Grissom lets the ball past him at ss, then Ludlow can throw out 20 percent of them. Science.

I’d only be interested in Crawford as a bad deal swap. If they assign value to him then you just move on

Orioles would be a place to look too. I think they need pitching and have a million ss prospects. Not one of the top guys but maybe you can get an Ortiz for an elder or shuster. Not sure if I’d do that deal bc all I know on Ortiz is what mlb.com says (great fielder probably can’t hit). But point...

Wash will help him develop. How much did dansby improve with wash? And he didn’t have some old man as his caddy. If you can move ozuna for Crawford then I’d think about it. But that’s bc I hate ozuna, not bc I love Crawford. I’m just not seeing Grissom hitting enough for lf. If he’s not ss or...

Feels like we are waiting out musical chairs. Maybe he feels like there won’t be any room and he can add some guys for cheap. Anderson, grossman, duvall, profar etc. I hope not. Still feel we need an impact bat. I don’t like andrus unless you plan on Grissom playing in aaa. Just not room. 13...

Agree. The shot is to keep developing impact guys and keeping making money to maintain payroll. Harris and strider are crazy. Impact guys, not picked at the top of the draft and only a couple of years in the minors. That is very hard to do. But they did just do it, twice.

Makes sense. But Riley wasn’t Riley year 1. Need another impact bat.

Still interested in Ian Happ. Maybe they won't move him b/c they have Swanson and others. I'm not sure I'd give up on Ian anderson for 1 year of Happ. Elder, maybe....Shuster I'm not a big believer in....

With arb we are a file and trial team. What we’ve seen now is you either extend or you’re gone as a free agent. Don’t be surprised when max is gone. No judgment from me that from either side. If you’ve earned more money and want that more than being a brave, go get it.

Said this earlier. I think you have to give them the benefit of the doubt on our own self scouting. That doesn’t mean he’ll be Harris. Could be a Riley situation where it takes time.

We need a real lf. Or two lottery tickets and hope between ozuna Rosario and the lottery tickets that one has a good year. Lottery ticket I’m thinking like peralta and turner combo. Both old and might suck but maybe one can still hit. Conforto is hard bc he was bad the year before he got hurt...

I’m not in favor of a back up cf. I don’t think snit will use him. And I think you need to let Harris hit and learn. Results were not good but he didn’t look awful to me. At the deadline you could pick up an of for nothing like aa has done. Move acuna to cf in that particular playofff game.

I do if he’s on the team and ozuna is not. I would not add a prospect of any real value to do that. But it’s possible Crawford is a 2-3 win ss. He’s a vet. He makes Grissom earn ss vs being given it. He has only one more year on his deal and ozuna has two.

I feel like AA has been good at evaluating his own guys. If they think Grissom can handle ss… I’d love a Brandon Crawford for ozuna swap. But I think ozuna has one more year. Not sure Crawford is better than Grissom but he’s not ozuna.

Dansby projected around 3 war with 105 wrc+. Can Grissom hit enough to make up for the drop on defense?
