I'm okay with Grissom/Arcia until the deadline to judge where we are. Need to add an outfield bat though.

AA seems to prefer to have roster flexibility. Someone like Martinez would be as much of a defensive liability as Ozuna and Rosario. But for $10m, his bat would have made sense.

At this point, I am convinced that we are cash strapped.

He wasn't great last year, and is strictly a DH at this point in his career. Turning 36 next Summer. Wonder if he has anything left. Also wonder if the Dodgers will use him as part of a short side platoon.

Dodgers can offer him way more playing time than we can. Unless we're getting rid of Ozuna, there wasnt a spot for JD, also gonna use TDA as DH more. I think we have some money, AA just doesnt make deals for the sake of making them.
 
If we're cool on Arcia/Grissom, we need one of Pollock/Peralta/Brantley/Conforto/Duvall. Duvall is the least exciting but hes been solid. Or trade for Kepler if it's reasonable.

If we get a LF is coming from a trade probably. I doubt AA is going to pay a extra outfield 10+ millions. We have 25 millions between Rosario and Ozuna.
 
I feel like AA has been good at evaluating his own guys. If they think Grissom can handle ss…

I’d love a Brandon Crawford for ozuna swap. But I think ozuna has one more year. Not sure Crawford is better than Grissom but he’s not ozuna.

If they grab Ozuna sure but for prospects hell no. You think Crawford make this team better?
 
It was obvious Swanson was going to the Cubs for a while now, and I’m actually slightly surprised he only got $177M, as I figured he might be closer to $200M.

SS is probably the 3rd worst position right now behind LF and DH. While DH can be mitigated a bit by giving Murphy some PAs when TDA catches, LF is going to be a disaster if Rosario/Ozuna take the bulk of those PAs. AA needs to acquire help in LF, and just as he’s been since last offseason, Conforto on a short term deal is the best available fit.
 
The Braves also need someone on the bench not named Hilliard who can handle CF. That man will preferably bat right handed so Harris can be rested 1-2 games a month vs LHP. Heredia should have been that guy, but hopefully AA has another option in mind.
