Joc was much better than Rosario and ozuna. Trading acuna or Albies is laughable. Those are impact guys on sub market deals. You want more of those guys not less.

I still think Grissom is too good a prospect to play on the short side of a platoon. Only see him up for that role if DH is cleared and he's getting a lot of at bats there. I think Jansen comes back over someone like Diaz. Maybe they get him on 15 million with a team option with a 2 million...

Hate the second year on the Rosario deal. I think we all did the moment it happened. I'd love to get Joc back if he's willing to be treated like the Giants treated him, no lefties ever. In that case maybe you keep Ozuna as his expensive platoon partner and dumping Rosario's 1 year 9 million...

Mets entire plan is that Max + DeGrom wins you playoff series. If they lose the Braves series and go 0-2 vs padres....that will be hilarious. deGrom is leaving I think. I don't think the Braves can afford it. But I think a loss in the WC round and deGrom will take less to get to a team he...

FF unconditional love I don't get. He had a chance to be Chipper. Chipper told him not to go to FA. FF decided he wanted 20 million more than he wanted to be a brave. That is his right but he did it. I think he made a mistake b/c long term being a brave for life would have gotten him a ton...

If Grissom isn't starting I'd put him in AAA. I think he has enough upside that I want him to play everyday. Arcia can handle the super sub option. Ozuna I think could be moved. Only has two years on the deal and still hits the ball hard. I think you keep Pina and let Wild Bill and TDA...

Around the Majors - 2022 Version

Framing will have less significance w/ robo umps. Scouting has been consistent that SL is very good on Defense. I think that data is very SSS for defensive metrics. Plus he's new to the big leagues and all of those pitchers.

Thanks for putting it together. The bigger bags may make Langeliers' arm more valuable if the running game picks up. I think he's going to be good, but i don't think he's an impact bat. I do think he can be a 750 OPS with elite defense and that is a very valuable player.

Around the Majors - 2022 Version

I like Waters more that most. I loved the tools and as you mentioned, the defense in LF raised the floor. Plus I've disliked our LF options for years. I'm not sold. Shocked the walk rate is that high given his aggregate data. That K rate is not sustainable. I think he's going to take a...

GDT 10/2/22: Braves vs Mutts - The Deciding Game

I don’t think it’s the money with ozuna. It’s the roster spot. Those are precious. I’m not attaching Anderson to ozuna. But I do want ozuna gone. Just pay it down. Let Chad tromp sit on the bench and get some money so snits comfortable with Contreras as dh

GDT 10/2/22: Braves vs Mutts - The Deciding Game

Dodgers don't just buy people. They have a great farm system and organization. They let some guys go on big free agent deals. I am with you that I don't want to be the Yankees model of bringing in a bunch of free agents. I want to build with young guys. But it would be nice to not lose guys...

    Triple Digits

I'm not selling low on Anderson. Ozuna is owed 2/36. i don't think that is bad. If we can pay charlie 20 million we can eat that. I would sell high on Elder. I was saying early in the year I really liked him as a 5th starter. I think that is all he is. If Elder plus Ozuna gets you off of...

GDT 10/2/22: Braves vs Mutts - The Deciding Game

We all get why they are stunned. The entire idea of the team is you put DeGrom and Max together and you can't lose in a playoff series. They just did it. It also shows why it will be so critical to win the division. You do NOT want any part of a 3 game series to decide your fate. Anything...

    Braves re-sign Morton

Agree 100%. Morton isn't putting in the work for 10 million. Rich people problems literally, but that's the price for Morton. I think we could have gotten similar results for less. But we do have a YOUNG staff. So I get the appeal of having a vet. Especially a vet who has had long term...

Why would he? Why sell low? He's still cheap. We've paid more for Soroka for less. Maybe you can't count on him for a spot in the rotation, but you have to work him up and see if he can get back. He likely had results over his head early, but he is a guy who has stepped up in big time...

    GDT 9/14/21 Charlie Morton !!!!!!!!!

Agree. Battery power had an article that was saying how amazing it was that we could win 100 games with down years from Acuna, Ozuna, Rosario, Olson, Albies, Ian Anderson, Luke Jackson, etc.

GDT 9/12/22: Braves @ Giants - Time To Hit That Final Stride

people also have down years. Lindor and Diaz struggled coming to NY and recovered. It is also a year where a lot of guys were moved off of their routine with the lock out. Olson's track record says he's likely to be worth the deal. I argued NOT to trade for him b/c I didn't like putting that...

I hope they take their time on Albies. He’s not looking good. Still pounding balls into the ground. Albies is great but we need Albies back not early season swing Albies.

I don’t see him as a starter this year. I only see him as a scheduled relief pitcher. Example you know strider is likely to only go 4-6 in playoffs. You tell soroka he’s going through the line up one time as a piggy back
