9 game turnaround in 56 days.

Given the schedule the Mets had in September, i didnt even think they'd stumble like they did. Thats why games arent played on paper.

Is espn gonna show all 4 playoff games Friday?

This is from MLB.com, not sure what the times are yet. I'd guess it goes 3-6 NL Game 1, 4-5 Game 2, 3-6 AL Game 1, 4-5 Game 2.

Friday, Oct. 7
NL Wild Card A, Game 1, ESPN
NL Wild Card B, Game 1, ESPN
AL Wild Card A, Game 1, ESPN
AL Wild Card B, Game 1, ESPN

Mets must be kicking themselves. All they had to do was not get swept with deGrom and Scherzer going, and the division was likely theirs.

Now all the Braves have to do is not get swept in Miami...

Or the Mets just lose a game to the Nats w/o DeGrom/Scherzer pitching.

Since the whipping the Mets issued us in august...

Braves 36-13 (.735)
Mets 27-22 (.551)

The Mets are incredibly unlucky that they had a buzzsaw in their division

Technically if they finished tied then they are co east champs. Just the Braves would get the bye due to tiebreaker.

Actually that's not true. This is from the MLB playoff picture article this morning:

"Should the Braves and Mets finish the regular season with identical records, Atlanta will win the division by virtue of winning the season series, 10-9."

Then the magic number should be 1, but it's 2, so either that blurb or the magic number are wrong.

The reason I was interested is bc if they clinch tonight, you can give guys a day off tomorrow and let em play Wednesday. If they have to win 2, do you give them Wednesday off with the lay off?

Yeah he’s right it’s 1. If we win tonight it’s over. They’ve dissected it all morning on every talk show. Everybody is stunned right now that we swept the series with deGrom and Scherzer pitching. If the Mets lose 1 game or we win one game it’s over.

If you remember I told you guys that the Mets offense wasn't real and they were playing over their heads.

We all get why they are stunned. The entire idea of the team is you put DeGrom and Max together and you can't lose in a playoff series. They just did it.

It also shows why it will be so critical to win the division. You do NOT want any part of a 3 game series to decide your fate. Anything can happen.

We have no choice but to pay him.

Not to bring the thread down but in my mind, it all comes down to Turner. If he is set on this side of country then Dansby ends up joining Freddie in LA. I feel like he would have already re-signed if it were going to be easy. This is one I hope I'm wrong on, but it's my hunch.
