Friday MINORS THREAD 5/19 ... Rome loses in 18

This is a pretty good option. I am glad they are doing it. 1) He is 25 and probably would never get a promotion to MLB just to fill a position. 2) If he succeeds, maybe his newly found approach could offer us a quality bench player when Freddie comes back. Better version of Jace. 3) If he...

Friday MINORS THREAD 5/19 ... Rome loses in 18

So you think if he maintains this pace for 17ish starts we should start looking for him to be a top target? That should put him in line trade deadline time

Friday MINORS THREAD 5/19 ... Rome loses in 18

How many more quality starts does it take before people start thinking Sims is a real SP prospect again? He has been basically dominant this year. His walks are way down also.

    Braves sign Loney

He is worse than Jace...might as well keep jace playing 1st.

GDT: 5/17 Braves vs Blue Jays

But he couldn`t hit anyone he is aiming at

GDT: 5/17 Braves vs Blue Jays

he is not ready yet, but I think you have to bring up Ruiz for 3rd base, Peterson become everyday 1st base and Carmargo is super utility (maybe platoon with Ruiz against LHP). People are wanting to see the young guys, especially if the season is lost with Freddie out.

WEDNESDAY MINORS THREAD 5/17: It's starting tp look a lot like summer

Don't look now, but Ozzie is hitting .342 in the last 10 and .302 in May...if keeps hitting for the rest of May and June, the pressure for Coppy to bring him up will be strong. Hopefully Swanson learns to hit a slider by then.

GDT: 5/17 Braves vs Blue Jays

We cant tell if it is broken or not....because there is so many small pieces of bone chips all over the place in the xray

Well he just got 2 guys out for Newcomb, so that is good.

WEDNESDAY MINORS THREAD 5/17: It's starting tp look a lot like summer

can't be comforting as a SP to work yourself into a bind and then be removed and replaced with Joel de la Cruz...yikes

MONDAY Minors Thread 5/14 ... What happens next? Gohara exits early!

Or maybe he is just too young to "get it" yet? or maybe he just sucks? or maybe there is something mechanical in his swing that he needs to fix? or maybe ? or maybe ? My point is we don't really know why he is struggling. He struggled mightily in Danville last year. Maybe they were going...

MINORS FINAL WEDNESDAY 5/10: Midweek matinees

Gohara is only 20. That is Allard, Soroka, Acuna, Gohara all 19-20 in AA. If things go this way, we will have the youngest roster in a couple years.

MINORS FINAL WEDNESDAY 5/10: Midweek matinees

decent line...would get excited if he could do that 4 times in a row. edit: Would actually love for him to do it 4 times in a row and then dupe some other team into wanting him.

MINORS FINAL WEDNESDAY 5/10: Midweek matinees

I guess that is what I always heard. Acuna may have better power than we thought.

MINORS FINAL WEDNESDAY 5/10: Midweek matinees

For all those in the know....isn't it harder to hit homers in Mississippi?

MINORS FINAL WEDNESDAY 5/10: Midweek matinees

WHOA!!! Slow your roll. Let's see how these guys react when adversity hits. Acuna will at some point bat under .600/.650/1.000. Then lets see if he crumbles. Allard and Gohara will have an era over 2.0. I hope they can keep it together then. Remember it is a mental game.

TUESDAY FINAL THREAD 5/9 .... Acuna debuts big in AA

Their stuff was just average (4-5 starter type) and the Braves wanted the to focus more on the pitching side to reach that potential. Apparently instead, it f***ed them up. Oh well, you need some like this for the statistics to stay accurate. Better them be lost, then Allard, Fried, Soroka???

TUESDAY FINAL THREAD 5/9 .... Acuna debuts big in AA

Even the trades we have made...A Jackson, A Morris, Luke Jackson, Demeritte, Seymour. All trades to send away good high floor type prospects for high ceiling prospects.

Gwinnett's rotation is a bit more interesting now

If the Braves continue on their current trajectory (out of it by all star break), then I would not mind seeing a final 2 months of Tehran, Folty, Newcomb, Sims, Weigel rotation. It would be a river boat gambling type experience every day, but exciting with a sprinkle of amazing.
