How many more quality starts does it take before people start thinking Sims is a real SP prospect again?

He has been basically dominant this year. His walks are way down also.

He has been basically dominant this year. His walks are way down also.

Probably a lot more than 41 IP considering his track record of poor control over his previous 500+ IP.

I think he has already earned a shot at the MLB level, and probably pretty soon.

If he is still rocking a 4:1 K:BB ratio after 100 IP we can start talking about him "figuring it out".

I think he has definitely put himself back on the map, but we'll still have to wait and see. His BABIP is low this year, and his GB rate is way down, LOB rate up. So his results suggest he's had some luck. But yeah, if he keeps up the K and BB rates, he definitely becomes a real option.

So you think if he maintains this pace for 17ish starts we should start looking for him to be a top target?

That should put him in line trade deadline time

despite you posi-brave spin.. I think 200 batters is something we need to see before we should completely trust him. Hard to ignore the past.

And his walk rate is only part of it. If he still has that straight as an arrow FB, he will get shelled at the MLB level.

Regardless, he's at the age now where giving him a look can't hurt anything.

I agree with this!

Coppy on Gohara during the #AskCoppy thing on Twitter: "He was placed on 7-day DL. Going to miss one start, but we expect to him to make the next start. Precautionary w/ a special arm & person."

I feel dirty agreeing with you so much... Ha

Rome Braves sports information guy is saying Wentz starts tonight. It's usually Anderson's turn in the rotation and he was previously listed as the starter. I'm going to try not to panic, but no promises.

Coppy just said Franco is going to AAA today and they will look at both him and Loney to replace Freeman

This is a pretty good option. I am glad they are doing it.

1) He is 25 and probably would never get a promotion to MLB just to fill a position.

2) If he succeeds, maybe his newly found approach could offer us a quality bench player when Freddie comes back. Better version of Jace.

3) If he fails, no sweat, we had no better options.

Truly no downside...its not like he is blocking someone.

I'm with you, but I like both of these guys and they are both doing well so far. I'm hoping they are just extremely careful with these guys.
