that article earlier had him putting up 4 WAR regularly with a couple of 5 WAR seasons. I don't think it's out of the question for him to put to 3.5 to 4 WAR a year for the full length of the contract.

that's an interesting take too. As to the options years being ridiculous. Again I think Acuna and Albies are a tuned to the realities of the Atlanta market, and the reality that the Braves will never have a top 10 payroll. I think they like winning and want to make sure the Braves can afford to...

Again I wouldn't blame their agents yet. Agents work for their clients not the other way around (despite what Boras may think). Acuna and Albies may just want to play for the Braves and the money wasn't their top priority.

So the Braves have locked up Acuna and Albies through their age 30 season for about half of what the Phillies are paying Harper.

Yeah...this is different than Acuna's option as he only has a buyout for the first option at 10 million. There is no buyout on the 2nd option.

I still think a huge part is that Acuna and Albies want to play together and they seem to really enjoy playing on the Braves. It also appears the Braves window of winning is fairly large. Honestly is a little refreshing to see some players not making it all about the money.

To be fair the Braves did get Simmons to sign a 7 year $58 million dollar deal after a 7 win season.

Yeah this contract seems crazy, but I don't think you can discount the fact that him and Acuna are best buds and seem to love playing for the Braves. Still 5 mil a year for Ozzie for 9 years is pretty absurd.

I mean Freddie would probably encourage him to sign a team friendly deal since he did the same thing.
