6/11/15: GDT - San Diego Padres @ Atlanta Braves

If we win just half of those 8 games, we're 33-27, in 1st in the East, and just a game back of the Giants for the third best record in the NL. In a throwaway/rebuild season we're one just halfway decent/competent bullpen away from being atop of the division 60 games into the season. Instead...

6/11/15: GDT - San Diego Padres @ Atlanta Braves

So what's a low estimate of how many more wins we'd have this year if we had just a halfway decent bullpen?

6/8/15: GDT - San Diego Padres @ Atlanta Braves (Only one Upton starting)

I'm convinced if we had a competent bullpen we'd be 55-2 this season. Ok, I'm exaggerating, but we'd be at least 54-3.

Eh, I think everyone in our bullpen is considered about our 7th best guy.

    5/24/15 Brewers @ Braves

Not very often you see a team win 3 out of a 4-game series and come away with a 0 RD for the series. Stupid 11-0 game. Still, can't complain about winning 3 of 4, especially this year.

4/28/15 MLB GDT Braves/Nats: Teheran on the bump(Julio Pic)/Some lineup consistency!

That, and we had a 9-1 then a 10-2 lead. I'm not sure how high it ranks, but as far as gut-wrenching, embarrassing regular season losses, this one has to rank pretty highly, if not #1 Stupid/silly me for going to WFF and relishing in their anguish during the 3rd-4th innings.

4/28/15 MLB GDT Braves/Nats: Teheran on the bump(Julio Pic)/Some lineup consistency!

I don't know, but this has been pretty excruciating. Every inning I keep thinking, "well yeah, but they're still down X runs." And every inning X keeps getting smaller and smaller to a point where I didn't think it'd ever get.

4/28/15 MLB GDT Braves/Nats: Teheran on the bump(Julio Pic)/Some lineup consistency!

We may actually do it. We may blow a 9-1/10-2 lead.

4/28/15 MLB GDT Braves/Nats: Teheran on the bump(Julio Pic)/Some lineup consistency!

With the way he's pitching lately (something has to be wrong), I guess not even an 8 run lead with 7 innings to go might not be safe with Julio on the mound.

4/28/15 MLB GDT Braves/Nats: Teheran on the bump(Julio Pic)/Some lineup consistency!

That may be, but I'm not sure they're as good as their record now and likely at the season will indicate. If the Nats really are this bad and, of course, with us being in rebuild mode, the division right now may just be flatout bad 2-5.

4/21/15 GDT: Markakis in the 2 spot / Gosselin tries to burn the Mets again

I'm not getting to watch and just saw the score. Can I just assume that any night Teheran, Wood, or Miller aren't pitching we can chalk up a loss unless the offense comes out on fire?

4/18/15 GDT: Looks like a new starting CF / Peterson getting the LaStella treament

I'm not quite sure why blowing a 4-0 lead after 6 innings pisses me off, because I don't think it's going to matter much in the grand scheme of things this year. We're still probably going to eventually flameout and be the 70-75 win team everyone expected us to be, but dammit why did Fredi...

4/17/15 GDT: Maybin getting more burn / Peterson batting 8th

Well, it's like they always say: baseball is a game of runs.

Does that place even still exist?

4/14/15 GDT Jace still out of the lineup

Meh, Cahill had one good season five years ago. Why not drop a guy who had a great spring for us and pick-up a bad pitcher? I mean, sure, Wandy hasn't had a very impressive career, either, but if you're going to release a pitcher coming off a good spring for your team, it better be so you can...

GDT: 4/12/15 BREAK OUT THE BROOMS (again!)

Until I figure out what/who this team truly is, nothing from this first loss forward would surprise me. I did start daydreaming about some day about a month from now while watching ESPN or MLB Network, while half paying attention, to hear one of those random stats about how the Braves are the...

GDT: 4/12/15 BREAK OUT THE BROOMS (again!)

This. Even if this team does go on to "meet" expectations and win 75-ish games, I'm pretty sure I'm going to really like/love this team. It's such a refreshing "take" on baseball compared to last year's clusterf**k.

GDT: 4/12/15 BREAK OUT THE BROOMS (again!)

10 pitches, 3 outs for Colon. Not a good start. I think we're going to get pitches to hit, but we can't just start swinging at everything that looks like it's going to be in the zone. We've gotta make Colon work at least a little bit.

GDT: 4/12/15 BREAK OUT THE BROOMS (again!)

This. We're finally getting to see how this team reacts to real adversity.

So the Gnats are 1-3. Pretty good start for "the best team in baseball."
