If AA can't, or doesn't believe in what's happening on field everyday, then he should be joining in the unemployment line as well.

The team could be doing well enough in this division, given how the other teams are playing, while waiting for hitters' luck to turn around and some pitchers to get healthy—but at this point a few games have been lost via sheer, unadulterated bad management. And a few games is huge at this point.

This is it. The players have to do it on the field. This is the sum of what the manager can do, cliche though it may be. That includes the clubhouse stuff, but also the tactical side. The former is pretty opaque to us. The latter is just obviously, pitifully, lacking.
