I love your optimism. I won’t completely count this team out either. And by that I mean I give them about a 5% chance to make the playoffs. It’s a pretty bleak outlook right now.
 
When they chased the Mets, they were defending world champs, so they still had that aura to them and confidence.

This is a continuation of last year, where the team shows life then shows death. Gotta get Snit outta there.
 
the team made the playoffs in 2021 because the NL sucked.. They chased down the Mets because they were a good team still and only had to chase down one team.. this year the NL is stacked and they have to pass like 6 teams just to get into the expanded WC games. Couple that with a team that just shows up and goes through the motion, a lifeless/idiot manager and a roster full of sub replacement level talent... this team is not making the postseason.

This is squarely on AA.. he continues to prioritize value over talent and continues to hire/employ 'good ol boys' from the 90's that help comprise the dumbest team in MLB history (which shows on the field on a nightly basis)

In 2021 on this date, they were 4 GB in division and 6 GB in WC (only 2 then). Today, they're 10 back in division and 5.5 in WC. There's 4 teams 5/5.5 back... the braves have the current tie breaker over the other 3.

I hate this team, but saying it's over now seems dumb to me

while saying there is no chance for the Braves to make the playoffs is foolish... However, you are portraying fuzzy stats with your details. The Braves still finished the 2021 season as the 5th best team in the NL and 12th best team in the league. As I said, the Braves took advantage of a really weak East division which they were 45-31 against... as well as a really weak bottom half central division. This year the NL is really stacked with a lot of good teams.. The reality of the situation is that this team is much more likely to miss the playoffs versus making the playoffs. this years team still has to navigate the inevitable Sale injury... the yearly riley and ozzie injuries and Acuna going on the 15 il to rest his surgically repaired knees.
 
It’s not like we are that close to playing good ball.

We are closer to a 5 game losing streak than a 5 game winning streak

that is because the team refuses to win around the margins.. (line up construction, pitching moves, pinch hitting)... hmmm I wonder who is in charge of that and if they are still around....

Just look at tonight's lineup... Ozuna is hitting 5th.. arguably the 2nd best hitter is hitting 5th.. why.. I don't know. Harris is hitting 9th.. why.. I guess it worked in 2023 so lets do it.
