06/13 GDT Vs The Mutts - Soroka vs Not Soroka

Make up call. Plenty of pitches that should have been strikes were called balls against us.

That's what the beneficiaries of bad calls always say. The reality is that not all bad calls are created equal based on the timing and circumstances of the call. We deserved to win this game but that call in that situation was huge and we should at least be forthright enough to admit we got a large break.

When will you learn that bad calls are only bad when they go against the Braves?

Kind of like when folks complain that the Braves hitters aren't even trying when they get dominated, yet heap praise on Soroka for shutting down the other lineup.

But we don't know if those bad calls against us was critical, you never know if the next pitch end up in the seats. Strawman argument my friend, woulda, shoulda, coulda comment by you.

Sorry.

We'd been bent over so many times this season due to replay, I for one will not complain. So don't complain for we got a break. We lost games due to replay, REPLAY.

Replay was a serious problem a few weeks ago. Either we have become more judicious in challenging, or they have begun to even out a bit. Doesn't seem to be as big of a problem of late.

Maybe it became so obvious that the Braves were getting screwed by replay that there was a directive to cut it out... :HeywardWut:

I hope it stays that way. This could be something big later on in the season.

Actually, you've set up a pretty nice little strawman yourself. What say we agree to disagree and let it go?

FiveThirtyEight now has the Braves at 88 wins with a 54% chance to make the playoffs. Curently would be on the outside looking in with the DBacks at 90 wins claiming the last wild card spot.

It would suck to not make the playoffs, but I'm not sure I could be upset either way if we got 88 wins. That'd be a huge accomplishment. A playoff appearance is just gravy.

Scherzos will beat out Freeman for MVP, and we’ll be livid, while deGrom will win the Cy for best pitcher despite the garbage w/l record.

Sadly Max could pull a Verlander on us. That said if Freeman is far and away the best position player with the Braves in contention I don't see how he doesn't get it.

Seems like a real error to have insufficient parking for these midweek midday games, otoh.

It does, but I think most people are Ubering and Lyfting to games where alcohol may be consumed. I don't think it will be a major inconvenience just something to be aware of.
