10/07/18 GDT NLDS Game 3: Dodgers @ Braves The Final Game of 2018

Fun game, glad to see the Braves get the win and force a game 4. If nothing else, one more game of postseason experience for the young guys. Acuna is so much better than I ever could've expected for a guy as young as he is.
 
I may have a hard time sleeping after that one.

Just curious, has anyone seen the six mound visits get used before tonight? First time I’ve seen it happen.
 
so anyone gonna walk back their anti Viz posts, especially the ones on page 24

his performance in the 9th was for the ages
 
I have to say—however Game Four goes—Acuña watching ball-four called a strike, and then destroying the first real strike he saw for a slam, is a highlight that justifies the whole series.

I thought the battles against Pederson and Turner were epic...and Viz could easily have become rattled or frustrated by the outcomes...the greatest and most memorable victories are the hard earned ones involving overcoming setbacks...that's what makes them epic

That sequence was just so poetically just, and the homer seemed inevitable after the missed ball 4. Something in his eyes said it was going to happen.

I know it obviously won’t happen, but I honestly would like to see the Braves employ an “opener” in a potential Game Five, with Newcomb, Gausman, Teheran, Toussaint, and Fried all options to go multiple mid-game innings based on matchups. I think it’d make more difficult, or at least complicate, the Dodgers’ strategy of platoon-stacking their lineup.

in other words an epic 9th inning...really as great a 9th inning as I can remember...apparently there was a communications breakdown between him and Suzuki the last two batters...they had exhausted the quota of mound visits...Suzuki was screaming at him using the few words of Spanish at his disposal...Viz had no clue what he was saying...but somehow they got through it

I would have to imagine it would be all hands on deck...Newk threw 2 innings or so in game 1, then another 2 or so in game 3....i'd imagine he would be available after the day off today and tomorrow.

I'd start Newk, switch to Teheran, then Freid/Gausman

I think Newcomb’s demonstrated that it’d be much sounder strategy to deploy him from the pen this series.

I didn’t expect them to be very good. That is true. I didn’t give up on them. My expectations were low and I wasn’t correct. You have a select group here who are no less a fan if they don’t think the Braves will win it all or whatever sunshine they want to cast. The angle is that I got and get crap because I haven’t bought into the rebuild plan and don’t agree with all the moves the team has made. Now you have people crying and whining and giving up yet they aren’t called out? I have no problems with people behaving that way, but you can’t just single me out.
