10/08/18 GDT NLDS GAME 4: Dodgers @ Braves The Final Final Game of 2018

Is Hill definitely pitching today? I had a strong feeling they'd opt for Ryu on 3 days rest, especially since he's been so dominant lately. Plus they have Kershaw waiting for game 5 on full rest.

He's listed as the official starter... I see nothing suggesting otherwise.

Although theoretically every pitcher is available, pitch counts from last night probably rule out Newcomb (43 pitches), Gausman (49), Touki (29) and Viz (31) from today's game.

This leaves 3 righties available (Brach, Sobotka, Teheran) and 3 lefties (Venters, Minter, Fried).

I'm assuming Minter is held back for the ninth or at most a 4 out save.

It is not as much depth and flexibility as heading into last night's game. I wouldn't be surprised to see Teheran brought in to face a couple right handed batters. Better at the start of an inning given he is not a reliever. If Folty leaves early Teheran could be asked to pitch multiple innings.

The ideal is Folty gives us 6 innings. Then you can mix and match your way through the 7th and 8th and basically have the platoon advantage with every at bat.

If Folty goes less than 6 then Snit will have to take some chances in terms of allowing the Dodgers to have the platoon advantage in certain at bats.

Which is why I think if we have any prayer of winning this game, Folty has to go at least 6 strong.

Six would be great. Because we could then burn a lefty and righty each in both the 7th and 8th before turning it over to Minter.

Five is not so bad, but would probably bring Julion into play for a couple hitters.

Less than five and Julion probably will be asked to go multiple innings.

I was led to believe that there wouldn’t be a game 4. I was shocked when I woke this morning and saw that the Braves won because so many here said they were going to lose.

Anyway. Good work from the Braves. Freddie Freeman delivered a clutch blast and that was the difference. Bullpen did it’s job and kept the Dodgers at bay after they tied it up. Wonder which pitcher shows up this afternoon? Folty who appears to dominate at times or Faulty who just throws the ball and does not pitch and has no mental toughness. Obviously early on we should be able to tell what guy showed up to the park.

You didn’t even watch the game? I knew you weren’t a real fan.

I value sleep and need to get a lot of stuff done at work this week. Getting a surgery done on Wednesday and could be out a few days or more. I watched as long as I could last night.

Dodgers lineup

1. Pederson
2. Turner
3. Muncy
4. Manny
5. Grandal
6. Hernandez
7. Bellinger
8. Puig
9. Hill

couple observations: they dont have a lefty bat on the bench, if we can get Pederson out of the lineup it would create a stretch of 4 consecutive RH hitters from 8 to 2 in the lineup albeit with one of them having reverse splits...I would make an effort to force Roberts to pinch hit for Pederson in his third AB

lineup

1. Acuna
2. Albies
3. Freeman
4. Muk
5. Camargo
6. Flowers
7. Inciarte
8. Culberson
9. Folty

expecting a yuge game from Flowers

People on here last night asking for Albies to hit 2nd and Comargo moved down for their wish.

I'm good with Julion coming in to get some right handed hitters out...he's always had pronounced splits

Yeah but doesnt he struggle early in games? Seems like when I watch him he gives up 2-4 in the first then settles down. Feels like the Dodgers will light him up.
