10/08/18 GDT NLDS GAME 4: Dodgers @ Braves The Final Final Game of 2018

Yeah but doesnt he struggle early in games? Seems like when I watch him he gives up 2-4 in the first then settles down. Feels like the Dodgers will light him up.

our pen wont be as deep tonight...good chance julion comes into play

As I've been watching this series I've been amazed at the ridiculous depth the Dodgers have. I've literally never seen anything like it. How did this team win only 91 games? They have a 2017 MVP candidate as the last man on their bench. You could split this team in half and have two .500 or better teams. For all the bitching over the walks and all of that, remember that this is essentially an all-star team we are playing against. Getting 1 win against them is quite a feat IMO.

That being said, I think we have a chance today. We got off the snide and getting used to being here. Go Braves!

Its amazing what you can do with a 500 billion dollar payroll. They spent like 16 million a year on Rich Hill knowing full well going in he was only good for about 100 innings a year. Absolute joke and anything they win is meaningless in my opinion. If they had our payroll they would be perennial cellar dwellers.

I went into this series hoping that we would win. Then it turned into I hope we win a game. Then to I hope we score a run, back to I hope we win a game.

Now it is hopefully we can win a game today, and avoid the Dodgers celebrating on our field...Then back to hope we win the series Wednesday...

about to walk over to the stadium

let's do this

Dodgers lineup

1. Pederson
2. Turner
3. Muncy
4. Manny
5. Grandal
6. Hernandez
7. Bellinger
8. Puig
9. Hill

couple observations: they dont have a lefty bat on the bench, if we can get Pederson out of the lineup it would create a stretch of 4 consecutive RH hitters from 8 to 2 in the lineup albeit with one of them having reverse splits...I would make an effort to force Roberts to pinch hit for Pederson in his third AB

Braves should have taken a note about last nights game and started Fried as the opener followed by Folty.

Either way, this game should be managed exectly as I suggested Game 1 be managed.

I know the playoffs are a "crap shoot" but it's kind of pathetic that LA hasn't won a WS (though they came damn close last year). They're a ridiculous team.

Turner was out for long stretches, as was Kershaw, as was Jansen, as was Ryu; Machado didn’t arrive until July; Bellinger was garbage for a while; and iirc Muncy took a month or two to break out.

they also added some of their depth (Dozier, Freese, Madson, etc.) at the deadline/after.

plus they way underperformed their pythagorean the first quarter of the season

Even with the huge payroll advantage they have, they must have amazing player development. They somehow turned nobodies in Justin Turner, Chris Taylor, and Max Muncy into all stars. Just makes it that much harder to compete against them. We been Yasmani Grandal who came to LA and immediately became an all star.
