It would take little more than a pulse to pull down north of 15 and hour.

People are paying people with no experience just to show up and help out where they can. Then they work and still no call no show on the reg.
 
Escaping poverty is an option for an overwhelming majority of the people in this country. Its all about putting in the work.

You need some more things go your way to elevate past lower middle class (Intelligence/Good Social Skills/Experience/Knowledge/Connections/etc...)

I think this is close to perfect, but I'll throw single parents out there as the exception. Heck my wife and I each had flexible jobs and there were still times it was tough to cover who would pick up and drop off at daycare or school, make the doctor visits, cover extracurricular stuff, sick days, etc. Single moms are just screwed until their kids are 12 or so, then their job is just nearly impossible.

And now with what is available (only fans) many single mothers are making the choice to sell their bodies which further compounds potential issues for the chidlren down the road.

We need drastic overhaul of our economic system that puts families first and rewards having children to established families.
 
W had the right slogan: No child left behind.

Time to put some actual meat and muscle behind it.

Unfortunately, children don't get to choose their home situation. Of course primary responsibility is always with the parents. But if you look at other countries, many do a better job than we do to make sure that children in disadvantaged circumstances have a better chance to overcome that.

But it is a government daycare center. That is its primary function. Second is teaching submission to authority. Somewhere around 15th priority is actually teaching valuable things we need to know.
 
AOC's statement is missing one small detail. The identity of the entity suppressing the rights of the Cuban people. She cant quite bring herself to say it.

She's proven time and again to have zero grasp on economics. Pretty much every time she discusses it she ends up saying incorrect things. Her screed against capitalism here is a perfect example. She doesn't know what capitalism actually means.
