We'll be in a position to take on 30-40M in salary for 2016. With the money we have pay for a third basemen, a catcher, a left fielder and one or two relievers. I think it is unlikely we prioritize a starting pitcher over those needs.
Right now the Braves are on track to have committed somewhere between $50-$60M going into the offseason which includes the $7.5M owed to CJ and the $8M owed to Maybin (two players who very well could and IMO should not be around even if it takes losing Maybin as the Price to get out from under CJ).
If you move them off, you have somewhere between $35M and $45M committed so I would say that $50-60M is a possibility given the right circumstances.
