'16 starting rotation

Look at the rotations of the Mets and Nats who we have to compete with. It just doesn't stack up unless we get a Grienke/Price

Stras has looked like dogcrap this year, Zimmerman may be gone.

Braves rotation if Washington loses Zimmerman is very close.

I'd go Tehran, Wood, Miller, Wisler, ManBan. I think that team could be in the playoffs with Cespedes in LF and a good 3B. I don't think that will happen. I'm not sure I trust Cespedes on the contract he'll earn.

I think Wood is either extended or traded this year. I'd go with traded. I'm guessing the new folks see him as a high injury risk.
So my guess would be Tehran, Miller, Wisler, ManBan, Retread or scrap heap guy. Wood, Maybin, Peraza and Folty likely going off in deals to other places to try and fill LF, 3B, and dump CJ.

I dont know why you keep using retread/scraps guy.

Two of Wisler, Perez, Manny fill the last 2 slots.

There's also Folty but he may be better for the pen.

And there's others who are coming up.

Some targets for 3B or LF:

JUp
Alex Guererro
Javier Baez
Tulo
Braun
others?

And I wouldn't be at all opposed to resigning Uribe for 3B if an OFer is targeted this offseason. He is very solid defensively and provides a decent RHed bat. I think the Braves will be hard pressed to find a guy for 3B that will produce appreciably better than Uribe has. He fits very well in this lineup at the 5 or 6 spot right behind another RHed bat and Freeman.

Keeping Maybin and going with an OF of Maybin, Smith and Markakis wouldn't be bad if 3B and C are upgraded significantly.

I fully expect a C will be signed to pair with CB. It could just be AJ again for all we know. Giving the Brewers a package centered around Peraza and a pitcher like Folty for Lucroy and maybe Braun would help the offense and defense tremendously.

We're not getting JUp.

LA could shop Guererro but im not sure of his contract status.

Meh on Tulo.

I'd be ok with Braun/Lucroy but that would cost alot.

With Ian Desmond's error problem at ss, any chance we could sign him as 3b?

I know this is a real reach...

The way we run through pitchers we need at least 8 or 10 lined up by the end of spring training. Though inning eaters can always be acquired in a hurry.

Think the Dodgers would be open to trading turner?

I'm sure they'd probably be open to it in the offseason to make room for Seager. Some form of Turner for Peraza swap could make sense for both teams as long as we are getting something else. Main issue with Turner is he would be a free agent after 2016.

Desmond's struggling this year, but he's been a 20/20 guy the last 2 years. I think Desmond would be an upgrade.

Desmond has 3 kids and is going to the highest bidder.

I'd rather just keep Uribe.

Alex Gurrero has a clause in his contract allowing him to be a free agent the year after if he is traded, so that kind of kills any trade value.

I'd try to pry Braun and Lucroy away... keep Uribe... keep Maybin playing in center (unless he needs to be in a trade that gives us good value... then we can see what Peraza or Smith can do). Sign Price.... then you're a legit contender next year. The only thing I hate is seeing Markakis in there. Would be nice to have an outfield of Braun/Smith or Peraza/Maybin

Turner is also a reverse splits hitter who kills righties and can't hit lefties for crap.

Probably right. And the Brewers need to sell and they have extra OFs....

Would another team do better than our po po platter of CB, Peraza, 1 of Folty/ManBan/Wisler, and probably a lower level prospect?

If we do Lucroy is ridiculously cheap. Wonder if we could rip up his contract and pay him 10 million the next two years in return for a couple of team options at 10 and 15 million?

I'm guessing it would take at least CB, Peraza and Folty just to get Lucroy, so it would have to be more than a throw in prospect to get Braun as well.

I do agree with that trade filling the main needs of the club moving forward though.
