2015 Braves predictions

The potential fun, for me:

Peterson
Freeman
Peraza (if/when he arrives)
Teheran
Wood
Miller
Martin

Hopeful progression from:
Simmons - as well as watching him on defense
Bethancourt

I'm going to say 75-78 wins this season.

Starting rotation will be good. Wonder about the bullpen outside of Kimbrel.

Offense will struggle, no way to sugar coat that.

Chris Johnson will be dangled in a trade at the deadline. Either way, I think this is his last season in Atlanta.

The Jose Peraza watch will hit a fever pitch come Summer.

The game threads will make me want to pull my hair out.

Rico's minor league threads will be more popular than ever.

I've read this 100 different places and it cracks me up everytime. This team is not going to be fun at all. The only fun it will be is that I'll be doing something else on my summer nights while we're 20 games out of first place.

Indeed. Losing is NOT fun.

83-87 wins
In contention for 2nd wild card in late Sept. Could win it with just a break or two.
Surprise of the year Bethancourt
Markakis solid year
JT, Wood, Miller will earn the New Big Three label
Disappointment of the year Minor

78-84 T-3rd in the division. Kimbrel still breaks 40 saves / 100 Ks. Teheran is the only starter with a winning record as the pen will pick up a lot of wins due to comebacks/ blown leads with a comeback, and low scoring tie games. Teheran, Kimbrel and Freddie are All-Stars. The Braves will still be only 5-6 GB at the end of July, but the Nationals (94-68) will go on an end of the year run and carry it into the WS, only to lose to Detroit.

79 wins

Minor has TJ surgery in July.
Teheran has TJ surgery in October
Wood ends the year on DL, Braves decide to go with rehab, then Wood has TJ surgery the first week of spring training.
We get a "Braves New World" article about the Braves having no hope of winning the division for once.
Fredi acts like the Braves are in the playoff hunt until mathematically eliminated despite being 20 games back in the division.
The Braves start hot and win 3 of the first 4 games. People blow that out of proportion and get hyped, then we lose 7 straight and reality sets in.
ESPN begs and pleads the Braves to trade Kimbrel over and over and over and over and over and over and over.
Freeman has a monster year finishing second in the MVP vote...... behind Heywood. Heywood signs a 10 year 300 million contract with the Yankees and says he was always a Yankees fan at heart.
Braves are bottom 10 in attendance
Heywood demolishes the Braves any time we play the Cardinals
Braves actually win the season series vs the Nats,
Callaspo is released in July
Derek Jeter wins gold glove

Tommy John. Tommy John. Tommy John. And...did I mention Tommy John???
