2015 WINTER MEETINGS THREAD

No. I meant that Wood and Peraza gets one of the two. Lol

I'm not so sure about that.

Miller would have maybe gotten Soler and Miller >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Wood.

Peraza is a nice piece but not sure it does.

Position players gettin' cheap!

I wouldn't go that far. Walker is a better player than Niese but the Pirates are also getting Niese for 3 years at a likely below market rate even though he struggled in 2015 while Walker has 1 year left.

Looks like Giles to Houston.

Olberholtzer, Velasquez and one more pitcher, close to done according to one of the Phillies writers.

Would be crazy

Jon Morosi ‏@jonmorosi
Sources: #Cubs remaining in close contact with agents for Jason Heyward, who are scheduled to depart from Nashville this evening.

It wont happen but i wouldnt be against Leake, he's a solid #3.

Ken Rosenthal ‏@Ken_Rosenthal
Sources: #Nationals cooling on Leake. Pursuing other pitchers. Agreement with Leake now considered unlikely.

Since November of 2014, the Braves have traded away Miller,*Jason Heyward,Justin Upton,*Andrelton Simmons,*Craig Kimbrel,*Evan Gattis,*Alex Wood,*Chris Johnson*and*Cameron Maybin.

Just think about that for a second. That is mind blowing. Honestly our farm system should be the greatest ever considering the talent we've traded. Man wouldn't it be nice to have a big payroll. And they left out Peraza.

I love Teheran but I'd have to agree. If the Cubs called and said Soler is available I'd have to do it and expand it to get a pitcher like Underwood back.

I agree with keeping Teheran at this point. Obviously if you could pull a package like Miller's, sure...but that's not likely.

I agree. He's signed through 2020 for less money than JA Happ got this offseason. We can absolutely afford to wait and see if he gets back to his old self; even if he only improves to being a 2-WAR pitcher he'd still be a bargain.

he was one on my radar.. he can fly.. good pick up for a rebuilding team..

I hope the Braves go after hitting.. I didn't see any pitching I like in rule 5. .. there is definitely no winkler out there..

only two pitchers I find interesting are ..

Chris Devenski—RHP—25—good command.. can miss bats. He was a reliever who was converted to starter in AA.. did well. I bet he gets taken by someone.
and
Josh Turley—LHP—25—knuckle baller—still in AA but has ok numbers.—article about him

other than that.. Cave (who is a lefty so I don't see them taking him) and T.J. Rivera are the only two hitters I like.. well the big 1B was kind of cool.. Just don't know if there is a fit with anyone in rule 5 this year.
