A lot of Braves related chatter on the FG chat today:

12:08 Who on the Braves roster now is the most likely not to be there come opening day?
Eno Sarris
12:08 Ender Inciarte? Seems like Mallex Smith can do about the same thing. Agreed. This regime has shown they don't really care about WAR and defensive first players. Mallex helps make Ender expendable.

12:38 Is Rob Whalen a number 5 starter for the Mariners of a multiple inning reliever this season?
Eno Sarris
12:38 Sixth starter swing man type. Agreed. Those guys are not hard to find. We have too many as it is
Ian
12:41 You don't view Ender as a player they keep? 25 years old, 4 years of control, top flight defender in CF, 290 hitter.
Eno Sarris
12:41 I think they want to get a pitcher and he's one of their better pieces to build around. Sell high! Ender's value will never be higher than it is right now. I love the guy, but the 4 years of control is what helps his value be so high right now.

12:42 Trading from depth to address need - Soler and Candelerio for Newcomb and Allard. Who says no?
Eno Sarris
12:42 Braves. Haha...Gotta be a Cubs fan still riding a high to even suggest that

12:44 Is it starting to look like the Braves have lost just about all faith in Matt Wisler, Aaron Blair, Tyrell Jenkins, and John Gant?
Eno Sarris
12:44 I can tell you for sure no on at least two of those. The Braves have not given up on Wisler and Blair. Both have low floors. This is not the time to sell on them. They'll have bounce back seasons. Jenkins and Gant are Rob Whalens who you couldn't sell high on.
Andrew
12:52 On a scale from 1 to 10, how stupid is it to go out of your way to align team success the opening of a new ballpark?
Eno Sarris
12:53 I'm not going all the way to 10 if that's stupid. You get attendance bounces two ways: new park and winning, from what I've read. If you can be good in year two or three of a new park, you can ride the wave into some sustainability. I agree somewhat. Nobody ever talks about the complex and if you're not from Atlanta I don't think you can see the potential of it. Since our TV deal sucks, we need this.

12:54 The Braves want a cost controlled top of the rotation arm, and the A's want a centerfielder. Does it make sense for both to do something around Inciarte for Gray? I know the pitcher is more valuable than a defensive first centerfielder, but is the extra cost now worth it since it may be less with Gray coming off a down year? It just seems to be a really good match that checks off each teams top priority, and that seems to be a point that would attract beane to make a move, especially when the Inciarte is still cheap for a few years.
Eno Sarris
12:54 I'm sure they're talking, and I'm sure that Gray is not number one on the Braves' list. Beane strikes me more as a Mallex guy due to money.
Tom
12:55 You mentioned earlier you felt Mallex could do about the same as Inciarte. Are you saying you feel Mallex could be a 2-3+ win a season player? Or do you feel Inciarte is overrated?
Eno Sarris
12:55 I think Mallex has enough speed, defense, and patience to be an average major leaguer yeah. Agreed. he could also potentially develop some pop. I think he'd be a 2.5 guy next year if the baserunning mistakes are toned down.

12:59 Hey Eno! What is your take on the Alex Jackson trade?
Eno Sarris
12:59 I think the Braves have more use for a lotto ticket like Jackson than two useful arms that might pitch on the back end of a staff.
my unsolicted two cents
