Only shut them down as their inning limits require. At no point should a team make decisions regarding the development of their young players with draft position in mind.

While true, I also didn't want JJ to blow the save and hurt his trade value. Further, I have faith in Fredi to continue to stink at managing making sure we have another bad losing streak at some point to get that top ten pick. Then again watch him manage his best when we actually need his worst or even his usual, that would be just our luck if you believe in such.
 
If the Braves are going to be on the hunt to land someone like Price this winter then they need to make sure they are in the top 10 so their pick is protected. If they have no intentions of doing that then I don't think it really matters. If the Braves land anywhere from 8-13 they will likely get who they want.
 
DBags win, back to 10th.

Im hoping we get some wins and JJ closes them out so his value goes higher as closer.

I think the system is in good enough shape we could survive that but having a protected pick would be very huge to have though.

Yes but we do need some wins to showcase JJ as closer to up his value.
 
You just don't lose on purpose!!! Anybody that grew up in sports or around it as I did the competitor in you just won't let you do it. Draft position?? So what? We are talking about a guy who is at best 3-5 years out from helping anyway and may never see the big leagues. I shake my head in disappointment at all of you pulling for losses

I shake my head in disappointment with your apparent lack of common sense. Further, you need to take that up with management keeping Fredi while trading off our better offensive players, etc. Shoot Maybin might be gone soon too.

It's about protection not position.

If they have no plan to sign fa then it does not matter. If they do it is soooo much better to be 10 than 11

I am hardly spoiled, I went to a ton of games in the 80's all the way up till before '91 watching teams so terrible that no matter the seat I bought front row was available to take a seat. While the main reason we went was to watch a few players (namely Murphy and Horner as far as offense).

Stay in that top 10 and get that protected pick!

A loss to Baltimore would keep Atlanta tied with Seattle for the 9 and 10 spots until they play later. Cleveland is only a half game better right now.

I would sell high on Maybin and also trade JJ and AJ by Friday. This team could easily fall into a top 5 pick (plus sign Kevin Maitan).
 
Cle keeps losing, smh, they need to win some games so we can pass them.
