2016 Draft Position

I'm hoping for balance with our first three picks. Pitcher hitter hitter or hitter pitcher pitcher. Have to base those picks on the players ceiling.

We have the #3 and #35 pick. Then we will pick 3rd in the second round so that should be ~50 at worst. That is 3 good spots to be picking in and I agree, I hope we get some balance in these picks this year.

maybe we offer Edwin a QO and hope he signs with someone else.. Ha..J/king

The 35th pick will most likely end up somewhere in the 20's after teams sign FAs with Qualifying Offers.

You're overlooking the fact that the teams that make a QO will gain a pick. In fact that 35th pick could move back a bit if some of the teams signing players with qualifying offers have protected picks.

The compensatory round is actually before the competitive balance round. Teams get compensated when they offer departing FAs a QO and they decline it and sign elsewhere. So the pick from the Dodgers is actually more likely to be in the high 30s or low 40s. Last year, the same pick ended up being at 41.

If thats accurate that would put our spending pool amount around 14.6 million depending on how much they increase slot values. If they do it wont be much. Some picks might move a few spots because they cant accurately predict who will get qualifying offers.
