2016 DRAFT Signing Tracker ... FINAL, JULY 15

Cameron Stanton (30th round) son of ex-Brave Mike Stanton

Jared James (34th round) son of ex-Brave Dion James

We ll know about Andres Perez (36th round)

Don't see any real indication that the Braves are serious about signing any of them...

IMO, of the first ten rounds, Wentz is the big question. If we can get him signed, the rest should fall into place.

Agreed, he'll probably cost the most of our draft pool.

If we can get the first 4 signed, big win.

I refuse to celebrate until the organization locks down Handsome Monica.

A winning smile and a great stat line.

Been nosing around the web doing some superficial research on some of the draft picks.

* #15 Zach Becherer is recovering from TJS. Hit the mid-90s with his fastball before going down. Was averaging over 14 Ks per 9 this season in five games. Curious that the Braves went as high as they did with the bonus given his status.

* #16 Josh Anthony committed to Auburn in late-May after having a monster season at NJCAA Division 2 Western Oklahoma squad (same school that produced Andrelton Simmons and current Rome OF Justin Ellison). Like Justin Ellison, Anthony is a Georgia native, growing up in Columbus.

* #28 Nick Shumpert is the son of former major league player Terry Shumpert and was the Tigers' seventh-round pick in 2015. Didn't have a great year at San Jacinto, so he'll probably return to beef up his value. Talking Chop seems to think he'll sign, but I have to guess is will cost more than $100,000 to get that done.
