2016 DRAFT Signing Tracker ... FINAL, JULY 15

There's been a big chunk of money left in the pool that had me questioning where it would go. Question answered. Saw a couple draft followers note that Wilson had a strong college commitment (to UNC I think), so it definitely sounds like that was the case.

I think that missing chunk was why so many of us were optimistic the Braves would go after some more big money guys on day three. I don't think any of us knew it would take more than twice slot value to sign Wilson. Interesting to give that much money to a guy that seems locked in as a reliever in the future.

Now that we've seen most of the significantly over slot bonuses, here's a quick look at how we moved money around (using slot values). For the purposes of this exercise, I've assumed that Anderson will sign for $4m.

Traded these picks: 3, 40, 44, 109

For these picks: 6, 13, 17, 53

By my calculations, the Braves have spent 8.36 million of their 13.2241 pool. Still have to figure in bonuses for 8,9,10 Rd plus Cumberland and Anderson. The best case scenario is the pre draft reported deal of 3.5 million for Ian Anderson and 10K deals for remaining senior signs in 8-10. That would give them 1,334,100 to sign Cumberland and hopefully enough to go after Anthony. They could go over their pool by 500,000 and pay a tax and still not lose a draft pick.

actually yeah, not sure what he's talking about
Probably just confirmation. These guys work with whispers, so things can change until they are on paper.

I just took it as Muller was officially confirmed at 2.5 and that we should expect Wentz at 3.05.

Actual total they can spend - $13,885,305 (includes the extra 5% leeway)

Total counting against that as of today - $8,460,000 (includes the extra $300,000 spent on Rowland, $175,000 spent on Becherer, and $25,000 spent on Tucker Davidson).

What makes me wonder about things is the fact that I would've imagined it would cost us significantly more than $100,000 to land Shumpert and Zach Rice.

I am so heartbroken I will refer to him as Homely Monica from this point forward.

We do have to sign Neslony and Mooney or lose the money. Don't know what the hold up is, but maybe Neslony and Mooney have figured that out and are trying to squeeze a few more bucks out of the Braves.

This might lead to a handsome bonus for one player. Don't know why Mooney hasn't signed. Neslony is still playing in the College World Series and can't sign until TexTech finishes up.

They will both come in under $100,000, but if they don't sign, the Braves lose the slot value, which will tighten up what they can do to accommodate bonus demands from Cumberland and possibly Anthony.

Good thing Neslony is a senior. He has grabbed quite a few headlines during the postseason.

Likewise, Brandon White of Lander (12th round) has confirmed his signing in his twitter signature. Both BWs now wrapped up.

Zach Rice signs! Signing photo on twitter, his home page looks like a Braves p.r. man designed it!

our tracker now has them with 26 signees, not counting Anderson. Wonder how much money is left for Cumberland, Anthony. Mooney is a senior, so he is in a take it or leave it situation.
