I'm not advocating Paul's actual numbers. Just using it as an example of how a flat tax could be set up where it actually is progressive. I would consider Paul's numbers as a starting point in negotiations. I think you'd probably need more like a rate of 20-25% and a standard deduction of about 50k. The middle class would pay about half the rate of the uber rich.
 
Trump is on fire tonight!

If there's one thing I love, it's Donald exposing the lies and hypocrisy of the "conservative" party even at the expense of making himself look like even more of an asshole.
 
So ignoring Kasich forgetting thing. Why does it seem like Trump and Carson were up to something? Using Carson to end Cruz? Or Planning on him being his running mate to lock up the religious vote? Or was Carson just napping like droopy dog.
 
Is it bad that I get enjoyment out of seeing Trump treat Jeb like a 10 year old?

Also, Rubio is trying his best to be more annoying than Cruz.
 
My god, this has become Candidate Name vs. Obama.

I was watching the Dem debates in 2008 again on youtube, and they never name dropped Bush43 as much as Obama's name has been dropped in the last 30 minutes. Yes they did go after Bush a lot, but not to this extent.
 
Trump and Cruz didn't hurt or help themselves tonight. Thanks to Christie's challenge, Rubio had a tough night and killed any momentum he had going into Tuesday.
 
I just watched some highlights of the debate...

I've never seen Ted Cruz get that angry before until Rubio accused him of not speaking Spanish. It was great, it was almost like Trump making Jeb get angry.

i anticipate some sort of rationalization will be offered about how very poorly chosen one turned out to be a fine president and all that jazz in spite of low expectations

i'll offer an alternative...if you are a conservative/libertarian/anti-left what happened in the past five or six years is a very painful thing...it has shown that even as crazy as the left is (and Lord knows there are a lot crazies and craziness on the left), it pales in comparison to craziness on the right during the very poorly chosen one era...so what is a fella to do...none of the choices are very good...but of the various no-so-good choices imo the worst is the follow the crazies into the deepest darkest rabbit hole...but that's what has happened...folks have taken to the ramparts as loyal members of the rapid response team cuz o the Left made them do it...or some such nonsense

anyhow the journey from "clown" and "entertainment" to grand geopolitical wizard who outfoxed Putin and put the fear of God in him has been nothing if not amusing to watch

and my friend Vern is far from the only one who has been tripping that way
