2016 Presidential Primaries [ SUPER TUESDAY | 3-1-'16]

I say this as a Democrat and one who sympathizes with much of what Sanders says, but he's a whack job.
Can you explain what you mean by whack job?

He's not overly religious or libertarian, so he's not that kind of 'whack job'. But he is passionate.

Do you think he's crazy for believing there's a snowball's chance in hell to wrest control of the money flow out of the corporate world's giant claws? If that's that kind of whack job you're talking about, I agree with you.

But God bless him for trying.

As a former political hack and currently a lobbyist, I have worked with the Sanders "type" over the years and they are extremely difficult to deal with because they cling to their own version of reality and often refuse to submit to pragmatic solutions. Like those on the far Right, they would rather sit on the sidelines and retain their purity as opposed to being part of the solution. Perhaps "whack job" is too strong a term, but I tire of people of any stripe who seem to believe their views are pristine and anyone who doesn't agree is beyond redemption. I don't see Sanders as being equipped to be President.

In my view ( an homage to the language of Sen Sanders) Sanders is/was essential to this election.
and applaud his temperament /steadfast commitment to keep his primary bid on the high ground .
When peole now talk about the low state of politics we now have Sen Sanders to point to as a counter balance
In so many ways he has led the HRC campaign. Should she win she owes him so so much

I agree, he won't be President
his conversation centering on a 21st century New Deal is a breath of fresh air

Hawk I take it you are out of a job ?

Been wondering where you've been. You missed me being wrong about Christie.
Imagine where he would be now if not for Bridgegate
Chris Christie did not end up in prison, I stand corrected you were right and I flubbed it

He wound up being Donald Trumps punk.

As corporatism and lobby power have gotten bigger and bigger with the expansion of government, Sanders wants to dramatically increase that that size.

Sanders' perspectives were needed. I just wish they would have been delivered by someone other than Sanders. I get that Elizabeth Warren was in a difficult position vis-a-vis Hillary, but she is a far better spokesperson than Sanders on the perspective of the progressive Left.

Warren is the Left's version of Ted Cruz, although more likable. She's very intelligent, good on her feet, and passionate. Bernie reminds me of Professor Irwin Corey.

But it was Sanders that stood up and took the bit.

I admire Sen Warren for recognizing she was not politically ready to a national candidate. ala Rubio
tells me her ambition takes a backseat to the issues she stress'

I don't know much about Warren... perhaps she is intelligent.

But Sanders' problem was his lack of intelligence.

I am curious to know how and find it weird you are not familiar with Sen Warren.
She has stood at the opposite forefront of issues you have argued

Sen Sanders 40 year record in public service is at odds with your assessment of his intelligence.

I know she is flaming liberal but I don't know if she is actually intelligent or not.

Sanders proved over and over again that he wasn't...

Sanders' biggest problem is the media shutting him out. If they objectively covered his campaign and showed its energy he'd be beating Hillary.

over and over again ?
can you be specific

do you measure intelligence by whether a person agrees or disagrees with you ?
that does seem to be the pattern

Remember this is the guy who didn't understand why housing loans have lower interest rates than student loans...

And remember you couldn't figure it out either

I think his bigger issue is that his message alienates a lot of people where as Hilary, warts and all, has been engineered to appeal to a broader reach of liberals. I think she's better suited for a general election than Sanders.

Sanders' a niche candidate.
