2016 Presidential Primaries [ SUPER TUESDAY | 3-1-'16]

Very ugly scene in Chicago. Trump rally postponed because of security concerns. Big group of protesters and now fights going on.

Old cynic that I am (which isn't difficult seeing I was a young cynic), part of me wonders if Trump is hiring demonstrators (not that he would have to). A bunch of us liberal hacks used to joke that Daniel Ortega was on Reagan's payroll because it seemed every time Reagan needed a boost for his Central American policy, Ortega would do something inexplicably stupid. I feel the same way here. Why would anyone actually go into a Trump event to demonstrate against Trump? It only feeds the beast.

I'm sorry, but looking at the crowd there, I think it's pretty obvious a lot of them went there intent on provoking a fight. And they wanted to do it in front of Trump.

My point is that it is stupid. All you do is stoke up the Trump crowd and solidify that base. I think it's perfectly okay to demonstrate with signs outside the arena or something like that, but if you go looking for trouble with a lot of people who will give you trouble, you're going to get . . . trouble. And when you are outnumbered, it's going to be big trouble. This keeps up, somebody is going to get shot.

I think this will be a big win for Trump if he plays it right.

I think a lot of these protestors are just college kids looking to have a good time. Obviously some of them are the over emotional types that might go over the line, so the security threat is probably real but for the most part it's just college kids having fun.

I love it when Americans hold up communist countries' flags and symbols, not even considering for a minute that they'd be jailed for years if they protested the government in said countries.

Keep in mind that liberals are calling Trump the next Hitler or Mussolini. Which certainly incites anger, fear and ignorance.

I believe both sides are to blame. I've gone to three Trump events. There were silent protests and the rudest behavior I saw was people saying **** You to the media and a couple people shoving to get near the front of the stage.

There's no doubt that most of these protesters showed up looking to incite something and there were plenty of Trump supporters who came looking for an excuse to hit someone.

Trump just shrugs things like this off. He always is constantly preaching about how he's a leader who will bring everyone together. Time to start acting like it.
