Again, might work, but who comes out of the convention. If it's someone who Trump has already beaten, the cry of the "stolen convention" would resound throughout the land. I don't know who would be an "out of the box" candidate. Ryan?
I wouldn't put it past Trump to endorse Hillary in that scenario (which Hillary would likely refuse). As in the third party effort, I think a totally out-of-control Republican convention would make it difficult for the Republicans to win the big prize in November much like a totally out-of-control convention made it difficult for the Democrats in 1968 (which also featured a third party candidate).
You guys think Paul Ryan is going to Frank Underwood his way to the White House? Trump will run as an independent if it's a brokered convention.
