2017 TOP 30 PROSPECTS: UPDATE IN PROGRESS

I don't recall anyone saying TD was better than Oz... Just that TD may be good enough that if we could get a haul for Albies, and maybe fill another need, it might be worth exploring. I don't agree with that, I think Oz will be special, but that is what I recall reading on the board.

Yeah. It is the mallex/ender debate. Mallex is not as good as ender. But is he good enough to use his value plus the value you get for ender to be better than ender and the guy you just replaced.

Keith has never been super high on Ozzie. He likes him fine but has consistently ranked him lower than other outlets. Not as high on Soroka either He likes Allard, Fried, and Gohara, and now Wright, more than most others do.

I don't think he believes in the power. And moving him to 2b does lower his value and put more pressure on the bat

And I think definitely no...especially when we used Mallex' value to get Gohara and keep Ender. I don't like the idea of trading your better player at a position because you can get more trade value for them, unless the difference in value is fairly minimal. The difference between Ender and Mallex is not minimal.

I can't disagree with that Top 6, or that Top 10, even if I do disagree somewhat with the order.

I think there is a clear group of 6 elite untouchable guys in the system right now, with Albies the pretty clear #1 due to his proximity to the majors. How anyone wants to rank Allard/Soroka/Wright is pretty subjective, as is where those pitchers compare to Acuna and Maitan.

Regardless, it's safe to say no other org can compete with that Top 6. Maitan is clearly too young to be given Top 25 consideration, but the other 5 are legit candidates to be Top 25 overall by mid-season...Top 50 for sure.

Mike Soroka
1:17 Does submitting a question about a player as FROM that player increase the likelihood of being seen/answered? Also, am I the top prospect in the braves system now?
Eno Sarris
1:17 no, yes

That's quite the hot take by Eno. FG's mid-season update will be fascinating.

If you go by performance and potential I agree! A 19 y.o. dominating AA against guy 4+ yrs older than him on average is pretty freakin impressive! My top 5 as of now would be.

1. Soroka

2. Acuna

3. Albies

4. Allard

5. Wright

Why does my gut keep telling me that Rasmussen is in play? Must have been the pizza. Gotta knock off the Papa John's.

Our farm is #1 and that's great. How impressive is it for Houston to have one of the top teams in baseball and a top 5 farm. That is N.U.T.S!!

That's because they had the #1 pick like 5 yrs. straight just like Washington when they got Harper and Strasburg in back to back years.
