2017 TOP 30 PROSPECTS: UPDATE IN PROGRESS

I'm never sarcastic

Well unless there's another Pache in our system I can't agree with you here! I've seen Pache several times and his defense, speed and maybe hit tool are better than Acuna but it's marginal at this point. His power will not exceed Acuna's power.

Jay,I don't know if you've seen the Rome guys as much as I have but i tend to agree with you on the defensive side. That's no knock on Acuña, but unless Pache starts to alter his swing to lift the ball more, he won't be as complete as Acuña. As it, Pache is a defensive gem, but not so far ahead of Acuña that I can see him being the better prospect ever.

I agree. The odds of Pache being as good as baby faced Acuna is about 5% max

White said are top heavy though. Once Moncada loses rookie status they won't be close to the Braves even if we lose Albies and Sims too.

Going to project Minter in majors to stay (duh), Newcomb, Gohara and Sims in the majors to stay (at least long enough to lose rookie status).

I think Minter technically will have rookie status in 2018. He was promoted August 23, which means less then 45 days on a major league roster this year. The September days don't count either. So he has only 8 active days. And he is well below the 50 inning threshold.

True. But for purposes of this list, if you're a big leaguer, you're not a prospect! Either/or

Think it was mentioned elsewhere, but Brett Cumberland is playing in the Australian Baseball League. The other night, he played right field!
