Replace the t with an f and you get my opinion of Bart. At this point I am hoping for one of the HS pitchers Winn, Stewart, or Liberatore. This draft class sucks imo.
If you're going to "swing for the fences" at #8, take Hankins and that fastball and "Ace" ceiling in the 1st and the best high school bat at #49 - not like we need to rush anyone at this point.
only if we can slide a new car under the table as well....
I know he’s projected mid first, but I wouldn’t complain at all if we took Hankins. I think he’d be a great candidate to out produce draft status
Isn’t Stewart supposed to have a really damn good fastball, in addition to the plus-plus curve? For me, he’s not really be the “safer” pick as much as the “smarter” pick, since he has two elite weapons.
high ceiling and high floor...to the extent the injury risks allow any pitcher to be high floor
Pretty interesting discussion about him between Bowden and Duquette yesterday on XM.

Knock on Hankins is he had a minor injury and didn’t immediately pitch well when he cane back.
Recently his velocity was back so I think he will go higher than maybe expected.
Once those prep arms start to slide, they tend to freefall. FG has him listed 40. I would be happy with him at pick 49 if the Braves get a hitter with pick 8.
That was back when he had a Velo drop. I don’t think they would rank him there with it reportedly back.
I still think Hankins at 8 is way to high. Consensus seems 15-25, and moreover I still don’t see how he’d be a better pick than Stewart.

Either is fine with me. I'm not really worried about where mock drafts have players between 8 and 20.
Hankins slip is all about the whiff of should injury, but he had the best FB in the draft and plus off speed as a complement.
Stewart has the best curve in the draft and a plus fastball possibility.
They are both 6'6 and 18 with more potential to come.
I'd be happy with either given the huge upside.
I supposed one of the college arms there would be fine too. I can get to be ok with a bat too, I suppose. It just seems as though the bats aren't real special looking.
