I'd like to see this simply because it would hopefully derail Oklahoma's championship aspirations before the season gets started. And because f**k OU on general principles.
 
Some of the mocks have Alec Bohm dropping past the eighth pick. He's someone who has similar upside to Gorman but less of the downside. I would take him over Stewart or Liberatore.

Any concerns on where he’d play for an NL team? I’ve read varying reports on the defense, with some evaluators suggesting he’s ultimately a 1B/DH.

Maybe you should have gone with a Todd Helton reference instead

I considered Kyle Parker, but that seemed obscure. More applicable though. Kyler is small and fast.
 
Re: Bohm and others, What do we know about college players's stats at relatively low levels of competition?

Wichita is a good program historically, but that's not an SEC or ACC or Pac 10 level of competition.

I guess he did well at Cape Cod and the CPL.

I haven't seen a single credible mock with actual insider info that has Bohm even getting to 8, much less falling past that.
 
Baseball America is the latest to flip our pick from Gorman to Stewart.

Fangraphs is the only major mock we are still waiting on. I think MLB Pipeline will also release an updated mock before the draft.

Bohm is basically what folks are hoping Gorman becomes in 3 years, with a better arm and more athleticism.

Anyone worried about Bohm should be doubly worried about Gorman.
