You may be absolutely right. I’m sure AA knows what this team needs and what resources he has to acquire it. AA trades and deals normally come with zero pre reporting so he may be working on something totally off radar.

That said I still think Cutch would be great for this team. Hope it happens.

Heyman says Braves have Keuchel atop their wish list, seek 1 RP/1 outfielder too.

yea and you (Heyman) seem to be speculating again here.

Keuchal predicted to sign for 21.5M per year which we could potentially afford but we would have to go super cheap in RP and OF. Not sure if thats the best course of action.

I'm not huge on Keuchal but I looked back at his stats... he's been surprisingly rock solid... he'd be a clear upgrade but I don't know if the money is worth it

Don’t like this one bit unless some very specific series of events play out involving an impact player in LF that costs very little payroll. Those events also involve an opening day payroll in the range of $130M+, a trade for a LFer involving Newk, and adding another solid bench option.

It is a terrible idea to pay for an aging ace, but it could work financially if AA can get Haniger or another cheap LFer, dump Duval, and sign a LHH 4th OFer.

MLBTR has been a little light on their FA contract predictions so far, so their 4/82 prediction likely represents the low end of the range we can expect him to sign for.

I’m not a fan of the Dallas Keuchel rumor either. I do believe that AA wants a veteran starter to be the defacto leader in the rotation and set a tone for the young guys.

Reports are that Keuchel is a data junkie who has great preparation. That’s the most attractive part of the rumor to me as the hope would be he’d rub off on the other guys.

Grienke and Bauer are also said to be big data guys with top notch preparation.

If there is any truth to the rumor I’d guess Mike Fast is in AA’s ear as it seems as though he has a lot of admiration for Keuchel.

I'm not a fan of Keuchal at all. K rate has been in a serious decline since his best season which was 2015. He will start the season at age 31, and he's become very hittable as his stuff has declined. Last year he gave up the most hits in the league. Sure that stat alone is not the best indicator of anything, but do you really want to pay top dollar for a pitcher who is getting up there in age with ratios and stuff rapidly declining?
