Have to say, as much as I like the upside play for Donaldson, an off-season of Donaldson, McCann and a Markakis reunion would leave me the very definition of underwhelmed.

And while Happ is better than I thought (seriously, how is J.A. Happ now a guy who strikes out nearly 10 hitters per nine?), the idea of a three-year contract there just seems doomed from the start.

Happ has pretty much been discounted his whole career until of late. I guess he hasn't regressed quite as much as perceived ? He has been traded a few times, and for not much of note.
