Grandal, Brantley, Camargo with Asdrubal on the bench

Vs

Mac, Markakis, JD with Camargo on the bench and not losing a pick in the 60s, plus whatever they add around the edges

I know which I would have preferred.

I think they may be taking money on to lesson prospect capitol on a trade. Could be wrong.

Hopefully we still make another move and spend some money but I guess I shouldn’t be shocked that we went cheap.Yay Liberty.
Spend a little on one year deals for Vets so that way you can show the people you are trying to be competive....
 
Well if they sign Pollack and platoon the 2 that wouldn't be bad BUT they now have the money to actually pursue Machado. If they could somehow sign him and trade Swanson+ for Kluber I wouldn't be upset AT ALL with this move.

This would likely require either a $140M payroll in 2019, or a $130M payroll and the Reds to trade for Teheran.

At this point I’ll hold out hope for scenarios like this haha.

Somebody must've given AA a spanking when he was summoned to headquarters during the Winter Meetings to remind him he was broke following the Donaldson signing and he took it to heart.
 
For only 4 mil i guess it isnt bad, but there HAS to be another move coming.

You cant have 4 of your hitters in the lineup being a platoon at C, Nick, Ender and Swanson, you just cant.
 
Wonder if the signing could possibly preclude a Duvall release? That would recover a chunk of the money they're paying him, and if they make it a strict platoon those ABs go to Camargo or Riley (at some point).
