Who knows where Harpers or Machado's contracts end up. But if their price falls the Braves need to be in on them and have year 1 back loaded.

Will they even get signed before Spring Training? Only 2 and half weeks to go. For w/e reason the Braves are the very latest team to have players report - 2/15 for pitchers and catchers. All of the other teams are a couple of days before

With 1st ST game on the 23 vs the Yuks. Opening day is Mar 29th at Phiiiies, 3 game series. 2 split squad days in ST, Mar 6th Det/Miami and Mar 17th vs Det/Houston.

I hate the idea of getting rid of Ender, especially after the Markakis signing. Can we build a trade around Swanson and sign Machado? :elefant:

I don’t see Ender going anywhere unless it’s to clear salary for somebody like Bryce or Machado. If we gave up Riley and Anderson I would say ok but you have to take Teheran. Only way I’m giving those 2 together for just 2 years of a player. We would be able to trade Flowers pretty easily I’d think. Astros, Dodgers and others would be very interested in him. We would have cleared enough money to upgrade again.

Riley, Swanson, Teheran, and Flowers for JTR. Sign Machado and move him to 3B next year if need be.

Teheran 11 million
Flowers 4 million

JTR would take up about 6 of that so we’d be left clearing around 9 million. If reports are true that we may have 15 left to spend then we’d have 24 left to spend. We could be a legit WS contender with that much money left and the talent we’d have on the roster. Machado would be a real target at that point.

I know Encheff hates lineups but let’s say just for fun all that happened and we did get Machado, what would your lineup look like? The first 5 could all be starters for the NL all star team. Maybe first 6.

Acuna
Donaldson
Freeman
Machado
Realmuto
Albies
Ender
Markakis

That’s as legit as it gets. I’d hate to face it as an opposing team.

Ender will only be traded if the braves believe pache will be ready by opening day 2020. Acuna can do a serviceable job in CF fo a season.

If a team assigns considerable surplus value to ender i think youd have to trade him because that bat could make him a worrysome play in the future.

With Acuna in one corner and pache in center braves can look for a 'bat' corner outfielder to bolster the lineup in 2020.

I was told Pache would be ready now, causing the Braves to shop Ender.

It says Riley or Ender. No way in hell we would give all 3 of those guys up..at least I hope we wouldn’t.

So it does, so it does.

Riley plus Anderson makes sense as fair value. Riley plus a lesser pitcher makes sense if AA wants good value.

Im the low man around here on both guys, so I would be ok with that package, but it’s understandably tough to swallow

the recent comments on Andersons spins rates make me ok with dealing him, Id love to put a package together to add a guy liike Steckenrider not sure what something like that would be noe really good with the Value charts but id guess something like Anderson, Riley, Jackson for JTR and Steckenrider?

Didn’t we trade Ender though
