2018 Offseason And Targets

The only thing on Ender is why does Miami need a proven guy in the deal, when they're years away.

Because their FO is dumb. Not only are they years away but the division is stacked.

I'd rather do Ender/Anderson/filler than Pache or Waters with Anderson though, but it's weird from their prospective. I guess depending who we replaced Ender with.

Ender, Anderson, and Riley for Anderson and realmuto. This match up value wise? Would you do it?

Ender makes that wayyyy too much. Plus it just doesn't make sense for us to move a controllable, cheap, 3 win outfielder. We just can't afford it.

If it were just Anderson and Riley I may do it, but I'd do my best to make it work with Riley plus one or two of our lower level pitching prospects.

If sooner or later we are trading Ender why not know? Next year Pache will take over and we will have enough money to extend Realmuto.

If we traded Ender plus significant prospects, it would be a Shelby Miller level fleecing. Think about it, we'd be trading a 3 win player with 4 years of control for a 4-5 win player with 2 years of control. We'd also be sending significant prospects in order to have that luxury. We'd also be creating another significant hole in our lineup with no obvious solutions outside of making a trade, costing us more significant prospects down the line. And its pretty likely the player we got back wouldn't be any better than Ender. It just makes no sense.

If we get a JTR deal done, it has to be with just prospects. If we do include an MLB player, it should be Flowers.

We'd be getting back a controllable, cheaper 3 win outfielder in the deal in addition to Realmuto. Anderson is a better hitter than Ender, and plays solid defense in a corner spot. The team defense would suffer a little, but the offense would be much better.

I'm biased because I've watched Brian Anderson since college, but I'd make that deal. If you would do Anderson plus Riley for Realmuto, you should be in favor of the expanded deal as well.

I didn't see the Anderson suggestion. That would make the trade work from our side, but it would be all time stupid from the Marlin's side. Why in the world would they give up a young 3 win outfielder with 5 years of control alongside Realmuto? What would the goal be there? To get Ender back in the deal? It just wouldn't make any sense from their perspective, especially considering that they'd still just be getting I. Anderson and Riley back. If they trade Anderson, they need to do it separately from Realmuto unless the Braves plan on sending an absurd amount of prospect capital back.

I can't even imagine a package for Anderson AND Realmuto, honestly. It'd be incredibly cost prohibitive.

Well, they are the Marlins...

I was just looking at his contract, yeah we'd be getting fleeced unless alot more came our way.

If they want a mlb player I’d sell them Swanson. Move Albies to short and comargo to second. Lots of bench options.

I’d move inciarte but not in a Realmuto deal if I could.

I was thinking of moving inciarte to the reds for winkler plus but not sure if winkler can field well enough.

If the marlins demanded inciarte plus then I’d want Anderson too. You could play him in a corner or move him to 3b if needed.

Does inciarte Riley Anderson and mueller get that done?

Not sure why you’d want inciarte and give up Anderson but it’s jeter. Maybe you can send newk and keep Anderson.

If AA signs Kuechel with his comp pick cost he needs to be fired immediately.

Because trading 2 more highly valuable prospects for 2 years of a catcher is such a better use of resources than pick No. 62 (or whatever)....

Keuchel instantly becomes our best pitcher. If you can get him on a short deal, it's a no brainer to bring him in.
