"Remark" you say. Actually, a fact, which is kinda different. If you feel he did not deserve it, then that's a fair statement. But your choice was to call him a name which you surely spent hours coming up with. Not much evidence about Donaldson because he went so quickly.

Here an MLB.com story that ran October 8, two weeks before the Braves signed him.:

BTW, Braves media indicate that a trade might not take place until after camp opens. So you have a few weeks left to make an even bigger fool out of yourself. Knock yourself out. I'm done with you.

Where did he call anyone a name?

Who did I name call. I am just speaking what I see. I have seen in this year. A first round pick go unsigned. Another investigation potentially costing us a high pick. Two scouting directors getting fired out of the blue just before draft. An off season with promise of spending money and prospect with a clear need at corner and catcher. Instead we got value signings to fill those needs. Then some BS talk of 70% trade and in on all these deals.

Yeah so sorry after our last GM I am a skeptic. And why the hell are you challenging me to an internet cock fight. I insulted no one and don’t appreciate the attack.

Good to see I'm not the only one who has no idea what you're so angry about...

You're done with me? Oh no...??

I didn't see the Anderson suggestion. That would make the trade work from our side, but it would be all time stupid from the Marlin's side. Why in the world would they give up a young 3 win outfielder with 5 years of control alongside Realmuto? What would the goal be there? To get Ender back in the deal? It just wouldn't make any sense from their perspective, especially considering that they'd still just be getting I. Anderson and Riley back. If they trade Anderson, they need to do it separately from Realmuto unless the Braves plan on sending an absurd amount of prospect capital back.

I can't even imagine a package for Anderson AND Realmuto, honestly. It'd be incredibly cost prohibitive.

If the Braves could get back Brian Anderson in a Marlins deal, I'd be more interested in the whole Realmuto discussion.

I personally would like to sell on Inciarte now, but don't see how you do that unless you add an outfielder. I don't see how he makes any sense at all for the Marlins. Why are they buying into a declining, mostly all defense 30+ year old who is getting more expensive, unless they have a flip lined up.

this just doesn't make sense.

I could see them being interested in Camargo/Ian Anderson though, with Camargo being the step down from Riley.

Just out of curiosity, why does anyone here believe an MLB front office would fill in a beat writer with information like this? It serves them no benefit and seems ridiculous. To me this guy is just throwing things out there based on a hint he may have picked up. I mean, there is literally no one to fact check him, he can put out there whatever he wants.

Mish broke both the Yelich and Ozuna trades, he knows far more than a Bowman or DOB.

Now i dont know if the Braves offer all that for JTR but i dont think hes just making things up.

its something to talk about in the offseason, should we not post possible leads and rumors by writers?

Where did I ever say you shouldn't post them? I'm just wondering what logically makes you think he's not making up stuff.

I'd figure he'd have a scoop once a trade is close to completion, which he's had before. But I don't see why a beat writer would be fed information along the way of potential negotiations. Plus, he posts stuff that is just safe enough, where there is no way he can be wrong.

Well there is a difference between breaking a trade (a front office could easily thrown him a bone once the trade is completed, so he's the first to know), and pretending to know what is happening with ongoing negotiations between multiple teams.

At this point, I'd be satisfied if we made some budget moves to fill out the rest of the roster. It'd be cool if we could get a guy like Marwin, but I'd also be fine with getting a guy like Neil Walker or Solarte on a cheap deal. I'd just like to see us add one more guy who could be a quality bat for us. Then maybe try to get a cheap bullpen arm that may be overlooked. Guys like Tony Sipp or Adam Warren may work, though its hard to pinpoint just how much they may be worth.

Given the way the offseason has gone so far, I just think going for depth oriented moves makes the most sense barring a Realmuto trade, which I'm becoming increasingly skeptical of.

Except it happens all the time in literally every sport. It isn't like this is a unique situation. GMs and agents alike leak info for negotation reasons. Or sometimes they just can't help themselves. Whatever the reason, we do know that Mish has some good connections within the Miami organization and there isn't much reason to assume he's lying.

Mish is no mouth piece so I’m gonna believe him until he gives us a reason not to. The Pads are wanting an extension and the Marlins said it won’t happen so I’m not so sure about them as a landing spot. Besides they aren’t ready to compete this year anyways, they are still a year or maybe 2 from being serious contenders with all of their prospects. I think it’s us unless Jeter just refuses to trade him in the division.

It seems likely that the Marlins FO is leaking stuff to Mish as a means of improving its leverage in trade talks...given this motivation I have doubts about the accuracy of his info
