If you could only make one move between now and ST, which would it be? I’m not including Harper or Machado.

1- Trade Riley, Flowers and Wright for JT
2- Sign Kimbrel
3- Sign Keuchel

Why? Minter was just as good as him last year

I don't know what the threshold for "significant" is, but I'm pretty confident that we'll try to add at least ~2 wins through one avenue or another.

We should have never gotten rid of Fredi. Now he's going back to school and will be educated in advanced mathematics. He will be full on in with analytics. Remember the offseason after he got fired he was interviewing for managerial spots and telling journalists he took a crash course on analytics and that he'd be ready to utilize it. I hope after Snitkers retires AA gives strong consideration to Fredi to come back.

We won’t have a reason to add at the deadline if that’s the case imo.

My thought as well. Others should read it and let me know if I’m reading it wrong.

Almost sounded like last years mentality. I got it last year. We were coming off a bad year, new front office had to learn players and we took on bad money so we didn’t have to pay Kemp this year.

This year is supposed to be very different. Are we going to hang around 500 and hope some team sucks and panic dumps two impact guys?

Kimbrel 1.5 fWAR
Minter 1.4 fWAR

I do

So Camargo is as good as Harper then right? 3.3 WAR vs. 3.5....

Kimbrel had a slightly down season, fueled by some bad luck (after some good luck and one of the best seasons for a reliever ever in 2017). Still throwing in the upper 90's. Minter is not on Kimbrels level.

Production was similar and when you factor in cost.....

Brian Kenny's Ahead of the Curve suggested the opener and that you should never sign a big free agent. Never. Is this book required reading now?
