What's the most money you'd give Kimbrel, i'd go 2/30 with a 3rd year option. I know he wont accept that but i dont think it's smart for the Braves to be in on him.

That depends on what else we want to do. We need to spend money since it was promised that we would. The fans will lose trust in this team if they don’t do a couple of more moves and spend a little.

@Buster_ESPN

World Series pick from here for 2019: The Astros bounce back and win their second title in three years, defeating the Atlanta Braves in October.

Buster know something we don’t?

They've spent close to 30 million and havent yet traded any big time prospects.

Besides, if you look around baseball, not many teams are going stupid in free agency spending just to spend.

I agree. I’m happy. I’m just saying the word is, our payroll is less than last year and that’s not supposed to be.

I suspect we have a little bit more money to spend then AA is letting on. He’s not the kind to let people know how much our payroll is gonna be.

26 mill for an impact defender and mvp level bat on a one year deal isn’t the same as how Harper will be valued.

Agreed. I am interested to see what Harper ends up at. Outside of one season he has been a lot of hype. Not to say he hasn't been good or great but his production has clearly been a level below the likes of Arenado and Machado.

Also I think this clearly sets the tone for what the Braves would be looking to spend next offseason if they target Arenando or Rendon if he hits FA. Going to need to be 30+ easy.

Arenado is really, really ****ing good. All world defender, elite bat, only 27, he's cashing in. He's a guy you open the checkbook for.

Id be very happy with the off-season then lol

Both Keuchel and Kimbrel have qualifying offers which means loss of draft pick. If the Braves passed on Pollock at reasonable money to sign either one of those guys, somebody needs to be fired. WTH did you draft and trade for all those pitchers if you aren't going to pitch any of them and aren't going to trade any?

Watch, Braves will sign one of these guys on a $18M one year deal and everybody will say what a genius AA is. BS

If you want to improve the rotation do something significant and trade for Kluber (or, lesser then Paxton...too late).

Bottom line is that it's pretty clear that they don't have the cash to make big moves to help 2019 and think they are too far away to spend a bunch of prospect capital on 2019, thinking 2020 and beyond is the target.
